2004 Acura MDX

Pros: Comfortable ride, nice interior features and options. Good value for the money.

I bought a used 2004 MDX with 25,000mi and love it. It is the touring model with DVD and side air bags. The steering is tight, the seats are very comfortable especially on long highway drives. Exceleration on exit raps are very impressive. When parking in shopping centers, my MDX fits great like a medium size car and does not stick out like suburbans, expeditions and pick-up trucks. I found Mequirar's Car Care products excellent to maintain the high quality leather and interior of the MDX.

I have had the great pleasure to own a 2004 Acura MDX with tech package since June. I am very happy with the car and the dealer. I have no negative comments except that some front seat audio jacks would have allowed me to bypass the tape deck when using my mp3 player. A very quiet car with great ride and extremely accurate handling. My kids love the DVD system which also allows them to access any of the stereo system audio components at their will. This is a great feature as my wife and I can listen to our choices and the kids theirs without any bickering. The navigation system works better than I thought it would and has actually warned us of errors we were about to make when dealing with clover leaf exit ramps on trips to places we hadn't been to before!

Pros: Well appointed, good fit and finish, powerful engine
Cons: stiff ride, noisy exhaust drone, not enough leg room for both driver and passenger

My new 2004 MDX was a factory order and expectations were high. I had based those expectations on my buddies 2003 that I drove occasionally.
When my new 04 arrived I found the ride much harsher and noisier thanks to the new dual exhaust. The dealer explained the annoying rumble as resonance/drone from the new free flow dual exhaust system. This drone is really aggravating right around 2000 rpms on the highway. The dealer assures me Acura has a fix in the works.
A change to Michelin passenger tires from the original Cross Terrain truck tires did little to soften the ride.
I left a 2002 Toyota Highlander for this new 2004 MDX and I would take that less expensive Highlander back in a heartbeat.

Pros: Great Handling, cool navigational system w/rearview camera, plenty of seating with ample room

We purchased the Bronze (limited color) 2004 MDX. This mid-size SUV has very sleek, tight lines. Well built, sharp styling. Just this morning I was taking the kids to school and saw a car in my rearview mirror and thought "Thats a nice looking car" it was a MDX! What I was driving!

The car is a perfect size for a family of 5. I car pool a total of 5 kids under 8yrs old its great. I like the ease of folding down or pulling up the 3rd row seats. Tons of cargo for grocery shopping. The Navigation is too cool! I love the rear camera view, its so handy. It has a great Bose stereo system. The heated seats are great in Michigan winters.

It is a fun car to drive, and I feel safe driving it.

Cons: Short range on gas tank, And that CD issue...

Great car in every aspect. But beware the CD changer option. Acura is unfortunately unique (in my experience) in having a CD changer that is not capable of random play across all disks--it only shuffles around the cuts on the selected disk. This is the first of 4 cars I have had with CD changers, and the only one with this shortcoming. In my mind, the only reason you would want a CD shuffler is to allow "jukebox"-type play.

Other than that, a phenomenal vehicle. Rides great--as nice as my 2.7T Audi A6, quick (for an SUV). Smooth and stable, unlike any other SUV I've ever driven...and despite the lack of dealer negotiation, probably the single best value in luxury SUV land...

I purchased the MDX with touring package last month. This car far exceeds my expectations. It is so comfortable and quiet to drive that I feel like I could fall asleep at the wheel. I love the color (sagebrush), the ride, the sound system, the gas mileage, and the style! I could go on forever. It has every possible gadget that I could want and then some. I am hoping to have this car for a very long time and I am sure I will enjoy every minute of ownership!
