Pros: Fun to drive, good on gas Cons: on the smaller size, ride can be bumpy
I must apologize because I am not really a car enthusiast and I don't necessarily know all of the technical aspects of this car or any car for that matter. I have, however, driven the BMW X3 for almost 3 years now, and I feel I can contribute some ...
We purchased a 2004 BMW X3 very recently for $5K back of book. It has 3.0 L engine, automatic, leather interior, heated seats, privacy glass, garage door opener mirror option and wind deflectors on the windows option. The car meets every expectation for ...
Pros: Essentially a smaller X5 with good performance, nice handling, and adequate features. Cons: Some quirks in the interior cabin, top of the line X3s will cost you...
A family member recently purchased a 2004 BMW X3, 2.5L. Naturally, I was inclined to play with it. Let's talk about the X3. Exterior. I am impressed by the lines and the exterior design of the X3. Scaling down from the larger X5, the X3's ...
Pros: Great handling, interior amenities Cons: who wants to know!
The X3 is a fun to drive, sharp, great handling driving machine. If you've ever driven another SUV, you will know that if you BEGIN to push the limits of handling, going around a corner, or maneuvering at a higher speed, that you can start to feel a ...
Pros: -Financing/lease incentives
-Excellent AWD/Xdrive system
-Sports car like handling Cons: -Questionable durability of "Sensatec" interior
-Acceptable performance levels
An overall enthralling experience with my entry level purchase into the "BMW" marque/culture. Coming from a Honda S2000, followed by a Toyota 4Runner, and later a Toyota Tundra, I was looking for a vehicle that satisfied my wife's craving for an ...
Pros: tight tight tight ride, simple approach to dashboard, solid quality Cons: a little pricey when you add up the options
The car feels right...it's solid, it's tight, and yes, the shocks are tight. I knew exactly what I was getting when I bought this. If users want a Cadillac ride, then get a Cadillac. I have been driving Mercedes E320's the past 8 years and am a fan ...

Pros: Handling, less expansive than an X5 Cons: More expensive than just about any other SUV, styling, interior materials, rear seat comfort
Ive never been a big fan of BMWs first SUV, the X5. It incorporated most of the disadvantages of the typical SUV, with few of the benefits. Despite weighing as much as the typical midsize SUV, 4650 pounds even in base trim, the X5 offered ...
Poor Ride Quality - It was the TIRES! by scottwithrow ,Sep 24 '07
Pros: Directional headlights, manual transmission, huge sunroof, great brakes, responsive steering. Cons: Manual transmission can be jumpy. Suspension is stiff, but OK with the Michelins.
I just replaced the factory installed Bridgestone tires with Michelins after 35,500 miles on my 2004 BMW X3. The bone-jarring ride is gone and I am now driving a car rather than a truck. The guy at the tire store called the Bridgestones "bricks". The difference is amazing. When I first leased the vehicle, I needed more room than a 3 series BMW but I wanted a manual transmission, so I got the X3. I was considering anteing up the $55,000 for a 2008 BMW 535 wagon with a manual transmission, but the new tires have convinced me to buy the X3 off lease, for $30,000 less.
Pros: handles very well. Cons: rough ride, cheap interior and hard seats.
plain and simple, don't buy this truck. the ride is very rough and the interior looks more like a cheap korean car than a bmw.
this was my first bmw and it will be my last. for the money it costs, you can get an acura with more bells and whistles.
Solid as a rock. Brisk handling. Allot of room. Quality feel inside and out. This after 11,000 miles. With the 2.5 engine I get 24mpg on the highway. I bought a 2004 at the end of the model year so there were no "kinks" at all. Firm but very comfortable seats. Lots of hauling capability. A keeper!
I have almost 20,000 miles now on my 04 X3 and can say without a doubt it is the best car I have ever owned. The X-Drive is all that its cracked up to be, handling is fantastic and build quality is exceptional.
