Once upon a time cars were clearly cars and trucks were clearly trucks, and the line between the two was clear. Then the minivan and SUV appeared, and people began to use even pickups like cars, and the line began to blur. In recent years the ...
Pros: Very well thought out design, impressive fuel economy for it's size, comfort, styling. Cons: Navigation system design, XM radio, cruise control switch.
Decision: With gas prices what they are, I second guessed my decision to purchase a Chevy Avalanche more than once. Indeed, when I would mention to relatives and friends that I was in the market for a new vehicle, and I was pretty much set on the ...
Pros: Seats 6, Incredibly versatile, very comfortable Cons: Rear View, can be tough to park.
Intro Our 96 Isuzu Trooper is getting a bit long in the tooth with over 175,000 miles on the clock. Dont get me wrong, its been mostly trouble free and its still going strong but our needs have changed. My wife now surfs regularly along ...
Pros: Stylish, Bed design, Air Bag Design, Tow Capacity, Automatic Mirrors Cons: Hard to back-up, tail-gate height
QUICK REVIEW: I LOVE MY AVALANCHE! I got rid of my minivan because my husband is getting a company car (Grand Prix) and we needed something that will pull a boat, but yet be functional enough for everyday use for going around town with 2 kids. ...
Once you've had a truck, you wonder how you ever lived without one. But truck ownership means you give up comfortable riding for anything over two passengers, or you sacrificed cargo capability with a puny bed because you wanted the 4 door version. ...
Pros: Max Comfort, looks, and versatility! Cons: ???
That's what I told my wife when she even suggested looking at this truck/SUV. Considering I am a Chevy Silverado fan I decided to give it a spin. The test model I drove was a Z66 FULLY loaded, which always help a skeptic. I was amazed at the quite ...
Pros: Power, room for everything, suspension, non-slip bed liner, stereo, Driver Information Center Cons: Fuel economy, dash reflection in rear window, 17" wheels, but a 16" spare tire?
I purchased a 2005 Z71 with XM Radio, sunroof, and leather bucket seats. Anyone with a back back will love the adjustable seats. This truck drives well, handles well, and storage space for everything. I considered a Suburban and a Tahoe/Yukon before deciding on the Avalanche. The bed is perfect for anything from camping gear to trees from the local nursery. Hard covers over the bed keep everything dry and secure. It's better than a trunk because of the versatility. Taking the midgate down is easy (and even easier with two people) and provides a shocking amount of room! The Bose stereo is one of the best I've ever heard in a vehicle. I recommend this for "truck people" who want a car. This is not for "car people" who want an SUV. This thing is a truck!
Pros: Comfortable, practical, fun Cons: Gas mileage- not great for environment
We've had our 2004 Avalanche for a little more than a month now. It's very comfortable and practical. Great for ski trips as well as allowing my wife to use it for her landscape business. We almost went with a SportTrac and very thankful we didn't. Avalanche us much roomier and more comfortable.
Who needs one of those things? by greenker ,Dec 15 '03
Pros: Good looking, great value, luxurious without being ostentatious, incredible utility. Cons: Even at close to 6000 lbs, it blows around in heavy winds.
When I first saw the Avalanche on the road, I thought it was a perfect example of overkill and wondered why anyone would buy such a vehicle. Now that I have owned one for two weeks I can tell you that it is because it is one of the most comfortable and versatile vehicles you could ever own. The ride is smooth and powerful. The looks are great. The heated seats are heaven in cold climates like Colorado. You should get the XM radio if possible. It is fabulous for long trips.
My Avalanche Z66 Rocks!! by masherdong ,May 14 '04
Pros: Bed cover, power, rear seat comfort, and price! Cons: Gas mileage and rear view visibility.
I just bought my Avalanche on March 1, 2004 and I am just amazed of this fine truck. I was considering the Titan as well but for the price I paid for this Avalanche, made my choice much easier. I paid $25,000 for a Z66 package WBH and I am very pleased with it. For a big truck this size, the turning radius is very impressive, making parking at the mall much more easier. The Avalanche comes with a bed cover where all other trucks do not come with one. I bought the Z66 package with the street suspension and there is a big difference in the ride between the base and the Z66. I have never looked back on my decision and I do not have any regrets on buying this truck.
