Pros: Power, handling, ride, interior space and versatility Cons: Interior materials, third row not suitable for adults, deep deep dash
Before test driving the new Durango I fully expected to pan it in my review. I sat in one a month or so ago, and was turned off by the cheap appearance of the interior. I also thought the styling looks bulbous. Well, those criticisms remain, but I was so ...
Its Not all Whine and Roses: First of all, I must admit I was slightly shocked to see such rave reviews on the 2004 Dodge Durango. Im not such a proud parent, and Im a tough critic on cars considering Ive ...
Pros: Passenger room, Cargo room, Handling, and Towing. Fun to drive. Features with the Limited model. Cons: Fuel economy.
Introduction The 2004 Dodge Durango is a pleasant surprise in the world of SUVs and is worth considering if you are in the SUV market. It is a mid-size plus SUV and has greater cargo and towing capacity than other vehicles in its class. It ...
Pros: excellent power(hemi),great looking, endless features, room for 7 with comfort, handles great Cons: engine compartment is stuffed...I cant do any repairs if I wanted to
My wife and I began to shop for an SUV that would replace my worn out pick up. We chose an SUV so we could go as a family and the kids could even bring a friend. But if I was giving up my truck I wanted something that would pull a trailer also. We ...
I traded my 2001 BMW 325Ci for a 2004 Dodge Durango because I needed a car more family friendly and I also wanted something with the ability to tow a small toy hauler trailer. The Durango is amazingly practical. Changing diapers on a 10 month old is a ...
Pros: Satellite radio. Easy to tow trailers. Not too much good. This car really sucks! Cons: gas mileage STINKS! 2nd/3rd row legroom tiny. Uncomfortable. Drives like a bus. Sense of cheapness.
When the 2004 Dodge Durango came out, it was seen as "the suv to have." Well don't buy into any of that hype. This is by far the worst build quality in a car that I have ever seen. It's been 3 years since we bought it and the whole interior is FALLING ...
Pros: Lots of room, great features Cons: Gas-guzzler
I traded in a 2002 Mercedes C-Class (it seemed to get smaller with each baby) for a 2004 Durango for practicality. I chose the SLT... with leather interior, mp3 player, sunroof, and 3rd row seating. It was more money, but the interior is even nicer than my Mercedes... It has been almost 10 months, and I love it. It drives SO smooth, the interior is of great quality and sturdy, and it has tons of room without feeling bulky.
Pros: incredible engine, tons of room, great handling and towing ability Cons: roof rack does not come with cross bars (option), short third seat.
Body style has changed into a completely different vehicle than previous models. Front grill looked a bit large and open, but I changed this with a stainless steel billet grill. Very aggressive stance. Roof rack does not come with cross bars though. Needs a bigger Hemi emblem. I tow a 5000 pound boat and have no problems. I changed to a Flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler and ditched the original resonator. This has added performance and increased gas mileage to almost 20 mpg on the highway. Well worth the expense. Glad I traded in my 2003 for the 2004. Could not be happier. Absolutely no troubles. The AC problems (inadequate) from the 2003 have been gotten rid of. Blows ice cold in our 105 Arizona heat. Another weapon in Chrysler's impressive arsenal. If GM made vehicles like this, they would not be in trouble.
Pros: Wider and comfortable seating. Fast acceleration. Good gas mileage. Great options. Cons: Nothing other than getting pulled over for speeding every now and them.
My dealership called me that they had a fully loaded 2004 Dodge Durango Limited with a Hemi engine. I made an appointment to test drive the car. It was love at first sight. It was so plush inside. It had a DVD, Stereo with 12 speakers and sub woofers. It had a CD disc changer, Overhead console with trip monitor and leather seats that warmed your tush!
Seats are roomy, but I traded in my pain in my butt to a pain in my neck. The seats are very comfortable, but the head rest is too high and I get a stiff neck after an hour or so of driving. If you use a pillow it helps ease the pain.
It has all the luxury of a Mercedes and the power of a Mack Truck. This car is great for the family who travels to the mountains or goes off road.
This car is very good on gas. Considering it's big engine. I enjoy the ride to this car very much.
I am getting ready to celebrate this car's 2nd birthday and love it so much that I am having trouble parting with it.
Should Have Kept My Minivan by armywife2001 ,Jul 03 '05
Pros: none I can think of at this time Cons: it doesn't even run
I traded in my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan for a 2004 Dodge Durango Limited. Boy am I regreting it now. My Caravan was in great running condition and still looked great inside and out, but it just wasn't the SUV I had always dreamed of. Well here I am sitting without my Durango for 15 days now. Purchased my Durango 06/02/2005 and it has been in the service center since 06/17/2005. Service Technicians have exhausted all possibilites and now have called in a Chrysler Factory Specialist. From new radio being installed to a new main computer being installed the vehicle will still not start. Diagnostic tests are showing nothing is wrong but obviously something with the electrical system is wrong if the car won't even start. Yes if it was only a vehicle to sit in and not have to run it would be luxurious with it's leather seats and premium sound system, but alot of good that does me when I have 3 children who need to be taken to various appointments and such.
One of the BEST SUV's on the Market by ufrances5 ,Dec 24 '03
Pros: Power, ride, handling, interior materials, fit and finish, styling, structure, Cons: thirsty
I absolutely love my new Durango. The Durango's head turning styling is sure to stand out from the SUV crowd as well as turn heads. Inside, the Durango offers excellent interior material and fit and finish. My SLT's leather seats are comfortable and supportive. The dash layout is clean, legible, and refreshingly simple. There is plenty of room for seven in the Durango large cabin and airy cabin; even in the 3rd row. My Durango's 335hp hemi engine provides awsome acceleration and power. Passing larger vehicles on the highway is no problem. The Durango's ride is smooth and the steering is responsive. Driving the Durango is similar to driving a midsize sedan. The best part of about the Durango is its price. I only paid $35,000 for mine; well under the competition.
