2004 Honda S2000

Cons: Low-end torque, no MP3, poor bass, no alarm, poor interior lighting, lack of gauges

Owned for 1 month... Most reviewers gush over this car. I did too and won't repeat other review info here. Suffice it to say that I absolutely love this car! It is so fun to drive. Paint finish was flawless, better than any other car I have owned. New 17 inch wheels are beautiful. Headlights are fantastic! I'll concentrate on the CONS: the new 2.2L engine is great but requires premium fuel and torque still seems low. New drink holder is nice but gets in the way when shifting. On the other hand, it's so deep, a 12oz can is hard to grab. Sound system is very weak, almost no bass, and no MP3 player! No alarm is included. Weird. Even my '01 Focus has an alarm and better stereo. Tranny still occasionally grinds in 1-2 shift, as in past model years. I know this is not meant to be a luxury car, but it wouldn't add much cost/weight to... Wish list: Better interior lighting, add alarm, MP3 player, oil pressure gauge and voltmeter, sub-woofer, variable delay wipers. Delivery defects: 3 scratches on dash, occasional 1-2 shift grind.

Pros: reliability and fine-tuned engineering is where is find satisfaction with this car.
Cons: Honda interior colors on the early years of these cars was horrid.

The big three are all about marketing while Honda has silently been leading the world in engineering. The best generator to the best jet engine? Who's got it/them? Honda. Why would anybody choose a Beemer or a Box(crap)ster over this vehicle? Because they're buying a little symbol - Honda drivers care about quality over marketing; NOT the little symbol on the front of the car. Drive this car once and you'll confirm it as fact. No, it's not roomy and the bass is weak, but lemme tell you, my (honda) CBR F4 is the same way - and it has NO heat. But I NEVER complain about that stuff because I bought it as a sportbike, not grandmas' golf-cart. Get a grip on the dumb complaints and DRIVE the thing. If you can't afford an SUV for boat-towing and a family sedan for long drives, you should probably wait to buy the S2000; it's not meant to be your ONLY vehicle ... especially in the northern states.

Pros: The 240hp eng. is underrated by at least 25-horses,(just take it to any dyno).
Cons: Too bad I didn't buy one sooner!

This is the best fun you can get out there in four wheels. Want more fun? Buy a speed bike! It comes with a double personality, great in town, floor it and hit the VTEC at 6,500 rpm's and all hell breaks loose! It continues to be an eye catcher, (especially the Silvertone color). I did not buy this car expecting to have a great stereo, or soft suspension, or roominess. It's a roadster for goodness sake. That is the way they are built. Pure sport, pure adrenaline, raw power, but still get decent mileage. I'll keep this one as I believe Honda will stop making it soon. Then, it will be history. Still hand made...incredible!
