No More Infinitis For Me

by xraydude888 , Feb 12 '06
Pros: Smooth ride for a truck-based SUV.
Cons: Gas mileage. Huge quality control issues.
**I've owned this vehicle for over a year and a half now. It has taken a lot of patience and aggravation. The lemon laws (they suck) where I live prevented me from taking the course of action that the other reviewers on this car took.** After doing ...

Wow! What a great SUV

by BTownsend , Jun 23 '04
Pros: Exceptional ride, handling, power. Interior is PLUSH!
Cons: Very big so it takes some getting used to.
I purchased a 2004 Infiniti QX56 from Austin Infiniti in Texas in June 2004. My wife had been driving a 2001 QX4 and we wanted to trade up to a larger vehicle that offered third row seating. I investigated all the likely contenders...Nissan Armada, ...

Better Than Suburban

by dwatson1 , Sep 22 '05
Pros: Stylish, luxury car ride, powerful, fuel eff for size, technologies on-board
Cons: Fuel mileage; initially bad front brakes; confusing A/C system
The 2004 Infiniti QX56 I purchased was less expensive than the loaded Suburban, and still had many more amenities.... back-up camera, larger engine with better horsepower and yet better fuel economy, auto rear hatchdoor, and a more plush interior. The ...

QX56 at 10 months, 15,000 miles
by denas_dad ,May 06 '05
Pros: Good looks, lots of power.
Cons: Cheap parts, shoddy workmanship, Nissan doesn't care. Oh yeah, did I say cheap everything!
10 months and 15,000 miles. At 14,000 I took it in for brakes for the fourth time. The defective navigation system was also replaced as was the defective backup sonar. There is still no resolution to the intermittent cruise control problems, and drivers seat/steering wheel not returning to position.

About 60-65% of the rattles and squeaks have been solved as well as the groaning/grinding sound that come from the ventilation system when it changed modes. I have decided to let the flaws in the paint go as I have concerns about the long term durability of touchup paint.

My friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors all think I am nuts as the vehicle qualifies twice over under the California Lemon Law. Even if I were to get an attorney, spend the time and resources to fight Nissan/Inifinti the most I could get would be another QX56 and I would be right back where I started. It does not take a lot of research to find that the problems are shared by the Armada, Titan, and even the final Canton MS stablemate, the Quest.
