Pros: Exterior styling, handling, comfort Cons: Interior styling, minivan-like dash, no third row, price too high
A few years back BMW introduced the X5, the first SUV with handling that could be likened to that of a sport sedan with a straight face. I personally had trouble understanding the appeal of an SUV with limited utilitythe X5 doesnt offer much in ...

Pros: Styling, steering and handling, options-for-price, perhaps gas mileage. Cons: You cannot use chains on the tires. Other options are available.
...So my review is premature, because I haven't driven it more than 5 miles post-purchase yet, so I haven't seen the kinks and haven't had the time to develop any complaints. But I can tell you this: I researched this car well (including on this ...

Pros: Nissan's Xtronic CVT, AWD for all-weather performance, great exterior, front seat and side airbag Cons: None
Nissan has a way of giving the American consumers what they want. The automotive company's engineers have hit it big with this year's Nissan Murano. On the freeways as well as in cities all over America, the SUV is a real head-turner. I can clearly ...

Pros: Style, Comfort, Sound System, Safety Features Cons: Steering, door to trunk and a few other minor annoyances
I bought a 2004 Nissan Murano just over a month ago. I will tell you right up front, that I did a lot of online research about this car before I bought it. I will also tell you that I will not bore you with ramblings about the horsepower, torque, ...

Pros: Looks and performance. Value. Cons: Fuel economy. Rattling noises (but hopefully that's ironed out)
My wife and I compared the Murano with the Honda Pilot. After careful research, we selected the 2004 Murano SL AWD. We've had it now for 4 months and overall we have been very happy with it. Its already gone through below-minus-40-degree (Celsius) ...

Pros: Styling, comfort and a blast to drive Cons: Questionable door construction may lead to rattles and ticks
When I first saw the Murano at a Nissan dealership in early 2003, painted in Sunlit Copper with a brick colored interior, I truly thought it was horrific. I even refused an invitation to test drive the car back then. Why Nissan chose the copper color ...

Pros: Styling, Space, CVT, Bose Sound, Safety Options and Regular Options Standard Cons: Premium Gas
I just recently purchased my '04 Nissan Murano SL AWD in May 2004. This vehicle drew my attention upon its release in the 2003 model year. At first I thought it to be a Pontiac Aztec, ugly styling...but something kept making me look at it and I finally ...

Pros: Looks, power, styling, comfort, cargo space, big tires and price. Cons: none
I previously owned a Lexus RX300 and I thought I was in heaven when I was driving the vehicle. I had leased it for three incredibly trouble free years. The Lexus left me with very high expectations of what my next suv should be like. The Murano had ...

Pros: Fit and finish, interior room, CVT transmission, styling Cons: Odd pattern for Xenon headlights
My wife and I have leased four Nissan Pathfinders over the past 12 years since moving to Colorado from New York. Mistakenly believing Colorado winters to be excessively brutal, with lots and lots of snow, we leased the first (1993) Pathfinder for a ...

Pros: Handling, power, comfort and room, the Bose sound system and its unique styling Cons: Dashboard
I've just had this SUV a couple of weeks. Thus far I'm more than pleased. I've been driving SUVs for 13years. During that time I've owned or leased 3 Bravadas and 2 Pathfinders. Before that I had a BMW 635 and a Saab Turbo. The Saab and BMW led to too ...

Pros: Smooth drive train. Cavernous interior. Sharp styling. Cons: Braking system. Cheap interior. Gas mileage. Ride quality on uneven surfaces. Cornering.
Leased the 2WD w/ the sunroof & Bose stereo packages. Test drove the vehicle and was initially impressed. Pushy salesman got me to lease it. Worst decision I have ever made. Lets start with the rated gas mileage of 20/25. As long as you always ...

Pros: Solid feel, lots of safety features, comfortable interior. Cons: GAS MILEAGE IS HORRIBLE!
We have had our 2004 Murano (lease) for a year now. We have the "middle of the road" package - there wasn't one available in the color we wanted which had all the bells and whistles of the GPS, personalized seat positioning, etc. However, this model ...

Pros: Dual air control, memory seats, 6'6" driver fits comfortably Cons: CD player skips on random play, leather seats are cracking
I bought my vehicle three years ago. At that time I had one young child and a 130lb dog. I'd been driving a 2001 Nissan Maxima but needed a better vehicle to fit my dog in . My husband had been eye-balling the Murano and after our first test drive, I ...

Great SUV horrible MPG
by pjofnj ,Feb 09 '04
Pros: Great handling, engine sounds great. Love the CVT transmission(despite what you read else where). Cons: Miles Perl Gallan SUCK.. 17 on highway is what it gave me.
Drives amazing. Its got a great smooth pick up and breaking. You can hear the car "roar" when you step on it, very responsive. Love the handling. Drives amazing on snow and wet surface. No need to pay extra for Traction Control Package. It handles wet roads very well anyway.
Two bad things about this car. Cup holder and MPG. It gives me 16-17 mpg on full highway driving. And you know if I have to list cup holder as a problem, then there is really nothing much to complain about.
I would recommand buying this car, however if you do lot of driving then be prepare to spend a lot on gas.

Extremely Happy
by mccoy1906 ,Apr 15 '04
Pros: smooth ride, backseats recline, excellent bose system, high security standard Cons: absolutely none
I just purchased a new 2004 Nissan Murano. I can not express to you just how happy I am with it. It has great handle, especially with it's CVT technology that NEVER lets you feel the car shift when going various speeds. The six disc Bose Audio system is excellent and allows you to load the disc from the dash.
The backseats recline which I have never seen before. The large LCD screen gives you the temperature, when oil needs to be changed, the distance for a given trip, when wheels need to be rotated, among other things.
It's a very smooth ride and a luxury vehicle for a decent price.
