  • The styling continues to grow on me, but there are better choices

    Dec 08 '03
    Pros: Exterior styling, handling, comfort
Cons: Interior styling, minivan-like dash, no third row, price too high

Summary: A few years back BMW introduced the X5, the first SUV with handling that could be likened to that of a sport sedan with a straight face. I personally had trouble understanding the appeal of an SUV with limited utility—the X5 doesn’t offer much in ...

  • Nissan Murano - Good family car

    Jun 09 '07
Pros: Dual air control, memory seats, 6'6" driver fits comfortably
Cons: CD player skips on random play, leather seats are cracking

Summary: I bought my vehicle three years ago. At that time I had one young child and a 130lb dog. I'd been driving a 2001 Nissan Maxima but needed a better vehicle to fit my dog in . My husband had been eye-balling the Murano and after our first test drive, I ...

  • Good Solid SUV - Horrible Gas Mileage

    Dec 30 '05
Pros: Solid feel, lots of safety features, comfortable interior.
    Cons: GAS MILEAGE IS HORRIBLE!

Summary: We have had our 2004 Murano (lease) for a year now. We have the "middle of the road" package - there wasn't one available in the color we wanted which had all the bells and whistles of the GPS, personalized seat positioning, etc. However, this model ...

  • Rent this SUV for a week before buying

    Nov 02 '05
Pros: Smooth drive train. Cavernous interior. Sharp styling.
Cons: Braking system. Cheap interior. Gas mileage. Ride quality on uneven surfaces. Cornering.

Summary: Leased the 2WD w/ the sunroof & Bose stereo packages. Test drove the vehicle and was initially impressed. Pushy salesman got me to lease it. Worst decision I have ever made. Lets start with the rated gas mileage of 20/25. As long as you always ...

  • 2005, Murano SL, AWD

    Apr 14 '05
Pros: Handling, power, comfort and room, the Bose sound system and its unique styling
    Cons: Dashboard

Summary: I've just had this SUV a couple of weeks. Thus far I'm more than pleased. I've been driving SUVs for 13years. During that time I've owned or leased 3 Bravadas and 2 Pathfinders. Before that I had a BMW 635 and a Saab Turbo. The Saab and BMW led to too ...

  • A gem of a vehicle

    Mar 23 '05
Pros: Fit and finish, interior room, CVT transmission, styling
Cons: Odd pattern for Xenon headlights

Summary: My wife and I have leased four Nissan Pathfinders over the past 12 years since moving to Colorado from New York. Mistakenly believing Colorado winters to be excessively brutal, with lots and lots of snow, we leased the first (1993) Pathfinder for a ...

  • Love this more than my RX300

    Jan 16 '05
Pros: Looks, power, styling, comfort, cargo space, big tires and price.
    Cons: none

Summary: I previously owned a Lexus RX300 and I thought I was in heaven when I was driving the vehicle. I had leased it for three incredibly trouble free years. The Lexus left me with very high expectations of what my next suv should be like. The Murano had ...

  • 2004 Nissan Murano SL AWD

    May 31 '04
Pros: Styling, Space, CVT, Bose Sound, Safety Options and Regular Options Standard
    Cons: Premium Gas

Summary: I just recently purchased my '04 Nissan Murano SL AWD in May 2004. This vehicle drew my attention upon its release in the 2003 model year. At first I thought it to be a Pontiac Aztec, ugly styling...but something kept making me look at it and I finally ...

  • Nissan Murano SL - An Amazing Driving Machine

    Mar 26 '04
Pros: Styling, comfort and a blast to drive
Cons: Questionable door construction may lead to rattles and ticks

Summary: When I first saw the Murano at a Nissan dealership in early 2003, painted in Sunlit Copper with a brick colored interior, I truly thought it was horrific. I even refused an invitation to test drive the car back then. Why Nissan chose the copper color ...

  • Great Value

    Mar 22 '04
    Pros: Looks and performance. Value.
Cons: Fuel economy. Rattling noises (but hopefully that's ironed out)

Summary: My wife and I compared the Murano with the Honda Pilot. After careful research, we selected the 2004 Murano SL AWD. We've had it now for 4 months and overall we have been very happy with it. Its already gone through below-minus-40-degree (Celsius) ...

  • Hogging All the Attention

    Mar 20 '04
Pros: Style, Comfort, Sound System, Safety Features
Cons: Steering, door to trunk and a few other minor annoyances

Summary: I bought a 2004 Nissan Murano just over a month ago. I will tell you right up front, that I did a lot of online research about this car before I bought it. I will also tell you that I will not bore you with ramblings about the horsepower, torque, ...

  • Nissan Murano: The New Standard in Crossover SUV

    Feb 15 '04
Pros: Nissan's Xtronic CVT, AWD for all-weather performance, great exterior, front seat and side airbag
    Cons: None

Summary: Nissan has a way of giving the American consumers what they want. The automotive company's engineers have hit it big with this year's Nissan Murano. On the freeways as well as in cities all over America, the SUV is a real head-turner. I can clearly ...

  • I just bought a fully loaded AWD SL today on 1/25/04...

    Jan 26 '04
Pros: Styling, steering and handling, options-for-price, perhaps gas mileage.
Cons: You cannot use chains on the tires. Other options are available.

Summary: ...So my review is premature, because I haven't driven it more than 5 miles post-purchase yet, so I haven't seen the kinks and haven't had the time to develop any complaints. But I can tell you this: I researched this car well (including on this ...

  • lemon

    Jan 10 '07
    Pros: looks nice
    Cons: transmission problems

Summary: I'm leasing my 2004 Murano...it's been in the shop three different times. Twice the transmission went out, next the drive train went out. Nissan does not pay for a rental car, even when the car is under warranty. I will never buy a Nissan again!!!

  • Great ride, so far

    Jan 15 '06
Pros: Roomy interior, Quiet ride, decent MPG for it's size
Cons: Cruise control needs relocated. A bit pricey.

Summary: I bought this Murano for my wife in July of 2004. A bit pricier than some of the other SUV's we looked at. The build felt solid and the ride is very good. We bought ours with the leather interior, heated seats are the bomb on a cold day. We also got
