Pros: Handling, engine, ride, looks. Cons: Build quality on 04 and 05 models - 06 to soon to tell.
have previously reported a harmonic vibration felt through the steering wheel on my 04 Quest S. Over long distances, the shaking causes numbness of the hands. The dealer has attempted to resolve the problem three times before ultimately declaring that ...

Pros: Large cargo space, plentiful seating/storage, lots of head room, great visibility through the many windows. Cons: Gas mileage around 15 mpg when my wife drives, 20-25 mpg when I drive.
We test drove most of the other types of minivans, including Toyota and Honda, during the 9 months we were researching for this purchase. We ended up buying the Quest 3.5 SE fully equipped. The heated leather seats, programmable seat and mirror ...

Pros: style Cons: everything else
I test drove the quest recently and I could not believe what a hunk of junk the Quest was. First, the car would not start and had to be boosted. Second, the interior plastic was cheap and lots of trim items fell off, including the front seat ...

Pros: Stylish, neat interior, roomy. Cons: Sloppy construction, poorly thought out door design.
As parents of two young children, we were torn. We recognized the need for more workable transportation, but we didn't want to be seen driving the typical minivan. Enter the 2004 Nissan Quest. It was stylish. Many of our neighbors said, "It doesn't ...

Pros: LOOKS NICE> WOW Cons: EVERYTHING OTHER THEN ITS LOOKS
July 13th 2004 While driving my radio cut out. I eventually solved this problem by taking the key out of the ignition and completely restarting it. Did not bring in for service being I would not be able to duplicate problem. July 21st 2004 All Car ...

This lemon couldn't be more sour
by hojol ,Feb 25 '05
Pros: Stylish, not your usual minivan Cons: Poor Quality, Poor Service
4 Roof Leaks, 8+ Door Repairs, New Radio, New Running Boards, Rattling Consoles, numerous other little annoyances. After 15 months 20% of which it was in the shop, hopefully the worst is over. The transmission still occasionally rough shifts, the sulfur exhaust comes into the car and the AM radio conks out every now and then. Not sure who is less sympathetic - Nissan USA or Dave the Service Manager at Ramsey Nissan in NJ. Nissan feels they have compensated the unfortunate souls who bought this model early by extending warranty 2 years -- who cares about year 4 and 5, how about a quality, reliable car in year 1!

Roomy inside,Sporty outside and a joy to drive!
by mijw ,Apr 13 '05
Pros: Comfortable ride,Power in traffic, spacious inside, wide doors, easy to get in and out. Cons: A few correctable problems, and were corrected by dealer, not much for a new model.
The outside is sporty, but somewhat squaty, looking at it from the rear. The metalic gold seems deep and sleek. The stop lights are very noticeable but not too big.
I like the "belt line", which is not the usual straight van look, but sloping down somewhat towards the front. The windows are large and will be appreciated from the inside view when backing and in traffic. The top rails seem a little large, but make it easy to spot in a parking lot.

Minivaned Maxima
by tmustang ,Apr 02 '04
Pros: strong engine, looks too much like the 04 sienna, handles good Cons: engine struggles uphills, hard to fit in parking lots, the back roofs seem fragile
When i went to check out the 04 maxima at the nissan dealer,i noticed how much it looked like the quest.hard to believe the nerdish quest of the 90s evolved into a sporty looking rugged minivan.I noticed that they were few missed details especially the new car smell which gives me headaches and the huge sunroof looks it can break with ease. When it comes to driving, its quite and can pass cars with ease just like my windstar it handles big potholes without a little disconforte, when i returned to the dealer,i had some trouble parking it back to its spot but i just can't complain

Good but really bad squeaky noise
by eleclerc ,Dec 04 '03
Pros: styling, instruments, SL has good sounding stereo Cons: NOISES! SQUEAKING!!
I was happy to find out I wasn't the only one who was having the squeaky noise coming from the sliding doors. Actually the noise is troubling me GREATLY!! I switched from a Dodge Grand Caravan 1998 to this one thinking that finally I can own (lease actually) a japanese minivan of great quality. I love the engine and the features present on the 3.5 SL but the noise is totally ruining my enjoyment of this van. I had the van brought in the dealer to fix it but they weren't able to do anything about it. The 'funny' part of it is when the dealer picked me up from my work to pick up the car, they did it with a 2004 Quest with 40 000 kms on it. I was depressed to hear the huge body noise coming from all over!!! I figured there was no hope. I have now a second rendez-vous on december 18th to try to fix it once and for all but my hopes are slim. I am not exaggerating, this problem is huge.

Hope you like WALKING
by nissanhell ,Jan 18 '05
Pros: Looks great with lots of wheelchair space Cons: Cannot get a spare part to reattach the new bumper!
We bought a new Quest in 2004 and had a bumper accident over a month ago.We skidded on ice going 10 miles an hour.We were going so slow that the air bags did not deploy.I was shocked to see all The Styrofoam in the bumper. We had car rental for 30 days compliments of our insurance company.Nissan Corp of America have a $52 part on back order with no manufacturing date for same in sight so we are now walking in 1deg F and all they say is Sorry! You would be insane to buy a brand new car that cannot be repaired in a reasonable time frame.

Nicest Minivan out there
by jniz ,May 14 '04
Pros: Engine,Sky view roof,Looks,Overall Design Cons: still trying to figure out the downside
My wife and I are expecting our third child this fall, and began looking into the dreaded family vehicle ... the minivan. After narrowing our search down to the top three in our minds (Toyota, Honda, and Nissan), we began test driving. All van were relatively nice to drive, and had more gadgets than our existing sedan 2000 Altima, but the one that stood out was the Quest.
The Quest had some major advantages over it's competitors that were not necessarily aparent on the surface.... 1) Skyview Roof made available on the SL model (We got one of the first 10 in the country) 2) Ability to fold all seats flat (Now becoming std in all vans) 3)Ability to fit a double stroller in rear trunk well (Was a basic requirement that the Honda failed on).
Other top things to note: Very powerful V6 engine, comfortable seating, great audio / visual packages, unique design (not the average minivan).

NISSAN QUEST 2004 SE
by bsharp14 ,Feb 18 '06
Pros: Looks, acceleration, reliability. Cons: Absolutely none.
I have had this, my 5th Quest, for one and a half years. They are the greatest vans on the road. Never a problem in any of my Quests. My in laws have my '91 and '95 and have over 200,000 miles on each of them. They are comfy for long drives, get up and really go and look fabulous. Have driven all other vans on the road and this one is Tops. Hands Down.

Lost a loyal customer
by tuan00 ,Jun 26 '05
Pros: cheaper than Toyota Sienna but you get what you pay for. Cons: Poor reliability! In shop twice/month for 2 years. starter, vibrations, sudden power loss.
Rear lights are too small so I got rear ended twice compared to Toyota Sienna's larger tail lights.
After 2 years with the Quest, I still prefer instruments in front.

Back To The Dealer Again
by questowner ,Jun 02 '05
Pros: Great handling and ride Cons: manufacturing defects
Bought a new 2005 Quest S, back in March. Its been back to the dealer four times now. Little things like missing parts (one of the handles needed to fold the middle row seat) and a rattle in the trunk area that needed welded to repair.
Of late the airbag failure light is coming on because of a wiring problem. All this before 5,000 miles.
I hate to say this, but when this minivan is working its really a nice van. The ride and handling are excellent and its plenty powerful. Its the roomiest minivan Ive driven and the fold away seat work like a champ (when they have their handles on)
I hope the plant were the Quest are built gets its act together and delivers quality minivans as this minivan is a winner, but the manufacturing defects suck.

Looking for fuel economy......look elsewhere!
by dlduke ,Jul 24 '05
Pros: Roomy passenger space, drives well, cargo space very spacious. Cons: POOR FUEL ECONOMY. Not even close to listed fuel usage. Walk away!
This is my first non-American vehicle purchase. The major reason for this purchase was hoping for better fuel economy over my Ford F150 Crew Cab. The listed mileage was 26 highway and 20 city. The best I have gotten is 14.4 city and 21.8 highway. My F150 was better in the city and within one mile on the highway and I had the larger engine. Very disappointing considering I hate to be lied to. Most likely will never purchase another non-American vehicle, just do not see superior quality over American built as told. Cheaper plastic used for interior. I just do not see a vehicle with a long life as claimed.
In fairness to the van it is very roomy and cargo area carries much more than it appears space for. Good handling and nice to drive.
Bottom line....if your looking for better fuel economy: Don't just walk.....run!
