Pros: Still looks great, unique view out, versatile seating, accurate shifter and clutch. Cons: Leisurely acceleration, nautical roll angles accentuated by squashy seats, tight rear quarters, disappointing fuel economy.
My Experience A few weeks ago, I reviewed the MINI Cooper S--the automotive equivalent of blonde highlights and low-rise jeans--and found myself underwhelmed by the machine behind the hype. "Once the trend wanes," I thought, "this car will need ...
Pros: cavernous interior - plenty of space in the back Cons: big enough to feel like a mini-SUV. Noisy engine, sub-par shifter
I've now driven 2 PT Cruisers : one turbo and one non-turbo. The 2.4 Turbo I drove a few months back was a low-output one if I remember correctly, so on the whole it didn't make too much difference. Having most recently driven several non-turbo PT ...
Pros: Pros: Looks, cruise control, ride, seat comfort, good quality, aircon. Cons: Cons: Not a world beater, heavier and slower than Neon it’s based on.
I recently visited Houston, Texas, and needed to rent a car. I was surprised to see the PT Cruiser as one of the lowest priced rentals (at Thrifty) in the area. So, since I was curious about this car, I decided to check one out. Exterior: Okay, ...
Pros: Versatile comfortable. Actual 30 MPG on road trips. Cons: Sluggishness in pick up on mountain roads.
After a bad experience with a 2005 Ford Focus we purchased a 2005 PT Cruiser in August of this year. We looked around at many other cars and have been very happy with this choice. This was a preowned automatic 2005 Touring Edition. We paid a ...
Pros: Beautifully designed, attention to details, solid construction, fun to drive Cons: Poor fuel economy, brake pads are undersized and wear prematurely
I've only had my new plum-colored PT Cruiser for two weeks but I already know that I love it! My review will be non-technical, as I am just a typical female buyer. I dont know much about cars, so if you are looking for an analysis of gear ratios or ...
Pros: Purposeful, yet stylish design, high level of standard equipment Cons: Downmarket dash materials, winged Chrysler badge doesn't always disguise the Dodge Neon underpinnings.
A rather hip friend of mine, back a few years ago, went to his Chrysler dealer (then Chrysler-Plymouth dealer...) and plucked down a hefty over invoice sum to be one of the first to own the most exciting Chrysler brand car in a generation- the PT ...
Pros: unbelievably roomy, quiet highway cruising, stylish, ultra affordable, "made in north america" (well, mexico actually) Cons: sluggish acceleration with a full load, base engine noisy when floored
i trade cars every 18-24 months. i like a newer, inexpensive car for reliable commuting. on saturday i traded in my 2004 VW GTI 6 cylinder for a 2005 PT Cruiser touring edition. (i purchased the VW in november 2003) my issues with the VW were: (a) ...
Never Thought I Could Be in LOVE With a Car!!! But I AM!!! by otbgal ,May 23 '05
Pros: Comfortable, Quietness, Peppy, fairly Inexpensive for all the style you get!! Storage options.
cruisin...Boom Boom Cons: AC vent knobs flimsy but found chrome aftermarket ones. Back seat for 4 only!
I had my choice of any car, But the moment I say in the PT Cruiser touring Edition I was hooked. There is a love that happens in the first few minutes between a PT test driver and the car. I have owned my car for a week now and I can't wait to drive everyday! The comfort is faboooooo. After a major back injury the comfort of my new car was paramount! The high deck and seats make this car a dream to get in and out of. The dark windows make driving extra comfortable on the eyes my puppy in the back seat. The color matched dash panels are uber cool and add extra flare.
The storage is very versatile and with the back shelf you have a multitude of storage possibilities, even a tailgate picnic table! With the 2005 the seats fold down and up again for superb out of the way storage. the front passenger seat now folds flat for a tray effect with cup holder.I've used it for my lap top as well as a booster seat for the puppy to look out.
I can never imagine driving anything else!!
PT CRUISER TURBO TOURING CONVERTIBLE by webtvmall ,Jul 07 '06
Pros: acceleration, handling, style, pass through trunk fold down and flip rear seats..classy! Cons: split rear seat makes it hard to find inexpensive seat covers
WOW! Buy the TURBO and GO!!!
With just over 100,000 miles on my 1996 Sebring convertible I decided it was time to trade her in soon before something serious went wrong.
Being a convertible man I knew my choices were limited so I started working the net and seeing what was available in a roomy convertible. 2 months ago I went to a local dealer and test drove an Inferno Red Turbo Touring model and loved it...and decided that this car was the one of me.
It is roomy, quick acceleration, great handling, and a pass through trunk that would hold all of my DJ equipment for shows!!!
The front and rear seats are very comfortable...I have a bad back so the power drivers seat at full height makes it so easy to get in and out without lower back strain :D
The sound system is decent, one hand top latch is awesome, and for a convertible the road noise is minimal thanks to the roll bar design.
I love my new car....and if you drive one with turbo don't be surprised if you do too!
Pros: The look, driving pleasure (turbo CRD), roomy, make kids laugh, loved by girls. Cons: Not much storage.
Got me a 2005 Limited Turbo CRD (Benz Diesel engine). Use to get a 2.0 Touring. That's definitely not the same car. The CRD is a way far powerful and punchy.
Still a head turner, even after all these years. Still a kart-like behaviour (cornering flat, very responsive). Change the chip and you get 157 HP, w/ 370 NM torque.
The 2005 version is made with great care (the 2.0 was a 2001) and with its dark alcantara/leather skin, is very classy.
