Pros: Power, steering and suspension improvements, SRT seats, room, unique Cons: Fuel economy, interior not worthy of a $40,000 car The Bottom Line: Great choice if you want an ultra-high-performance large wagon. Even if it wasn't the only choice in this category.
SRT, for "Street and Racing Technology," is Chrysler's in-house tuner analogous to Ford's SVT and Mercedes' AMG. A friend of mine had to attend the all-day "SRT Track Experience" for work (her job has some perks) and asked if I'd like to come along. The ...

Pros: 3.5L engine, nice interior Cons: Not much trunk space The Bottom Line: Check it out!
In the past few weeks,I have driven several midsize cars. Perhaps the best driver's car of the bunch, the Magnums I've driven have all had the 3.5L, "high-output" 250 horse V6, which was excellent. I would also argue that this car is one of the best ...

Pros: Quiet at cruising speeds;
Decent stock radio (should have MP3 though);
Great brakes/engine. Cons: Whacked ergonomics'
Cargo space not as usable as expected The Bottom Line: If you want a GTcar, but need 4-doors, and only one parking space, here's your car. There are better executed designs for daily driving. Who would want this compromise?
I have been driving many rental cars recently, and I had the opportunity to drive a Magnum for two days this week. I specifically called the agency asking for "a van or a wagon" and I was pleasantly surprised when they offered me a Magnum. The car was ...

Pros: - practical family vehicle, yet
- a stealthy high performance sports car
- great value! Cons: - key release for hatch would be good
The Bottom Line: A practical family mover that doubles as a high performance sports car with BMW-like handling and sub-6 second acceleration. You'll need to drive it to believe it!
In discussing the Magnum it is common to dwell considerably on the performance characteristics of car, since it is rare to find a station wagon with a sub-6 second time that doesn't have AMG in the name or cost close to 6 figures. The R/T Magnum is ...

Pros: It's got a HEMI. You don't see them everywhere, and lots of room Cons: gas mileage isn't the best, not sure how resale will be. The Bottom Line: The Magnum is a great all around vehicle. You coudl get faster vehicles, you can get roomier vehicles, but this one fits the bill for both.
Upon nearing my 29th birthday, I came to a few realizations. I've always liked fast cars, but I've never owned one. I laugh at plain-Jane Camrys and Accords, and yet, there's a 2007 Camry sitting in my garage. I'm almost 29, well past the point where ...

Pros: Fast touring, economical, roomy, solid transportation. Cons: Big blind spot, poor gauge and cruise control placement. The Bottom Line: If I wanted a very stylish, roomy, economical, fast and solid touring car, I would buy a Magnum.
From 11 to 18 January 2006, I rented a Dodge Magnum SE with a 2.7 liter 6 cylinder engine from Dollar Rent a Car in Phoenix, AZ. I drove the Magnum 1363 miles and averaged just under 25 miles per gallon using regular. Most of the driving was on ...

Pros: Attitude, Style, Power, and oh yeah...did I mention attitude? Cons: Acres of generic plastic dash, wee bit of lag in the transmission. The Bottom Line: Enjoy one today! I don't know what it is...it's just a nice riding, great looking, well styled, amply-powered fun to drive automobile.
I stalked this car out since it's debut in early 2005, even the early spy photos told me that Chrysler had a nice semi-hot rod on their hands. I finally had the opportunity to get my very own a couple of months ago. I picked up a nice 2006, pre-owned ...

Pros: Fun, family-friendly, excellent ride, spacious interior, excellent cornering/handling Cons: Base 2.7 liter engine is underpowered, interior trim feels cheap The Bottom Line: This is a smooth-riding, comfortable car that is big enough for the family without sacrificing the last bit of parental independence and individualism.
This is a company car, and I didn't have a choice to upgrade the engine. I received the standard SE version with a decent option package (power seat, privacy glass, upgraded sound system, power windows, traction control), and I also opted to pay for the ...

Pros: Sleek & stylish, smooth ride, fun & easy to drive Cons: It's big, really enjoys the gasoline. The Bottom Line: This is a great family car - there's room for everyone and their junk. It drives great, and is really dependable and terribly cool.
So, my husband's sad old Ford Focus was threatening to explode on us. With a toddler in tow and a baby on the way, we began to research options that were not mini-vans...and came upon this cooler-than-usual wagon (dare I say sexier than usual? This ...

Pros: Very powerful, Easy Navigation system, Very Roomy, AWD Cons: Slow throttle response. steering is too light. too much body roll. live at the pump The Bottom Line: Very good, practical car. With a few tweaks, could be an excellent car.
I bought this car because I wanted a practical yet powerful car. I have the R/T AWD. The car is actually bigger than it looks. The interior is very roomy and the back is spacious. Adults have no problem in the back seat. I have all of the ...

Yeah, It's gotta Hemi!

Recommended: Yes
Pros: Hold on tight acceleration Cons: Hard to see out of backing up, especially at night
This is the best car I've ever owned!. I can haul all sorts of stuff, yet with the R/T suspension and Hemi it carves up the road. The accelearation is amazing! I have all of the usefulness of an SUV, but it drives like a sports car - well, a big sports car, but still, there is nothing else like it.
Also, a 75MPH drive thru I 80 in the mountains of Pennsylvania returned about 24 MPG.
A hauler that hauls, it doesn't get much better.
