Pros: I don't own it therefore I don't have to drive it every day. Cons: Braking, acceleration, handling, comfort, convenience features, ease of entry, exterior unattractive. The Bottom Line: I haven't driven a vehicle this poor with a build date newer than 1990. Test drive this beast if you must, but please run after, Mercury this is unacceptable.

Pros: Seat comfort, quiet ride, hugh trunk, nice exterior styling, nice features if loaded. Cons: Dashboard could use some razzle-dazzle. Needs rear sensor. Front cupholders block buttons.
I test-drove an LS and placed an order for one. Dealer tells me it will be an 8-12 week wait.
I've read all the negative things said from Consumer Reports, etc., about the car being dated, poor handling, uncomfortable seat, etc. Well, my brief exposure to car does not reveal these shortcomings. I recently went to the Seattle auto show and sat in loads of cars, including very expensive ones, and I think the seat in the Grand Marquis is better than all of those. It could be due to my being a real fat man and the bench seat gives me lots of room for my ample butt.
The ride seemed nice and quiet and smooth.
This car and the Lincoln Town Car are the only traditional large sedans left. Compare this car with what the same money will get you in Subarus, Hondas, etc, especially with the big rebate they have now. If you love a big American cruiser like I do, you'll be a lot happier with this beauty than an import.
