Pros: great sound, excellent clarity, very durable Cons: somewhat expensive, not meant for hard bass.
I have been a HUGE car audio fanatic for the last ten years. Ever since I was capable of driving, I have had a desire to blast my speakers at levels that werent fit for anyones ears. This has led to thousands of dollars in purchases, countless ...
Pros: Great sound, very little space requirement, Stealthbox fit perfect, OEM look, unique. Cons: Needed replacement, expensive, no Stealthbox for the passenger side trunk.
I purchased the JL Audio Stealthbox for my '95 Ford Mustang Cobra Convertible. The Stealthbox was a custom formed fiberglass box that fit perfectly in the right side of my small trunk. It housed a 10" JL Audio 10W6 down-firing subwoofer. This was an ...
Pros: Plays in small boxes of only .6cu ft sealed. Very fast articulate sound. Solid construction. Cons: Requires alot of power, NOT recommended for cheap unstable amplifier choices. Needs High current amplifer.
I bought 2 of these for my Kia sedan. The sound is insane. They are in just under 1 cubic foot each in a ported alignment. Although it is not a textbook alignment of a sealed design, It behaves more like an aproidic aligment( a ported aligment tuned ...
I first bought a JL 10W6 sub and powered it with a 250 watt Fosgate amplifier. For my first system it got the job done and made a lot of bass. After a while I decided that it wasn't enough so I bought another sub. My amp finally fried because the subs...
Stealth Box--Best of the Best by zcarboy454 ,Jan 03 '05
Pros: Great sound, fits perfect in hatch, saves luggage space Cons: None
I have the JL Stealthbox for my 1994 Nissan 300ZX. It is a fiberglass box custom made to fit on the the driver's side of the hatch. It would look factory if the black vinyl covering it would match the tan/brown interior.
As far as sound goes...simply amazing. I have an MTX Blue Thunder Pro 50X4 powering it (two channels bridged for the sub). I get clean, undistorted sound even when cranked up (even though I know I'm not even near the RMS rating on it).
I realize they can be pricey, but are definately worth it if you want superior sound quality and a compact package.
Jl Audio 10W6v2 First Class Sound Quality by davidpoynor ,May 25 '05
Pros: Great SQ even at high volumes
Very Linear
Great build quality
Cons: None some say the price, but would you ever expect to get Porsche performance cheaply
I have been trying different boxes and subs in my 2000 Maxima for past year trying to get the bass SQ decent, I had a Kicker comp VR in the longest. The kicker is very bluberish in sound esp at high volumes.... OMG the JL just blows it away I am 37 and my beastie boy days are behind me and I want very tight punchy accurate bass and the 10W6v2 delivers in every way. I am using a MTX 421D (420 watts at 2 ohms) and it works nicely....The sub is very linear even at max volume......the kicker would just blubber at higher volumes. If you want sound quality here it is....I wish I had spent the 259 bucks (Ebay) for one a long time ago, now I have boxes with 10's and 8's I have to sell..
