AJ Madison

The delivery did not happen as promised. They missed 2 scheduled delivery dates. On the day of delivery the installers left dents in the door frame. The refrigerator turned out to be defective, may not be the store's fault, but it was very difficult dealing with them to resolve the issue. To date the issue has not been resolved. The store has reneged on 2 offers to replace the unit, then they offered a refund, however, they reneged on this offer as well.

Excellent Experience. eMails were timely and clear. I shop a lot on-line and was a bit concerned due to the negative reviews, but being decided to give the order to entity that provided THE BEST PRICE. As far as my research on my microwave over, AJ MADISON HAD THE BEST PRICE.

One tip: check with the UPS site as to the shipping status. They did "drop-off" the unit on my doorstep. I supose that if my neighbors were less honest, this might have been a problem -- you should probably be home at time of delivery, which I was not.

I recently purchased a refrigerator and stove from AJ Madison. My experience with this company was excellent and I will purchase from this company again. My order was delivered earlier than expected and the employee who answers the phone was very pleasant to work with. I did read up on other reviews for this company before placing my order and I do agree that this is a great company to work with. They have very competitive pricing and quick shipping (the delivery personnel was very helpful as well - even bringing the appliances into our home for no extra charge!). If you want to avoid the inexperienced sales people in the stores attempting to sell you things that you do not need and/or want (at inflated prices), then I would do your research on what you want to purchase and order it from AJ Madison!

I purchased two Elkay sinks and related items (soap dispensers) from A.J. Madison.  The staff was professional, the sinks were shipped  quickly (drop shipped from Elkay), and arrived in perfect order and condition.  When A.J. Madison supplied me with a tracking number, I noticed what I thought was an error based on the shipping weights shown on the UPS tracking site (versus the weights per the spec sheets of the items I ordered).  I called A.J. Madison before the items even arrived to express my concern about the shipment.  The customer service person I talked to (Mushka) was VERY professional and prompt in following up with Elkay, and getting right back to me by phone.  She said she reconfirmed the accuracy of the shipments, but that if I had any problems once it arrived to call her immediately.  Turns out the UPS guys had the weight wrong, and the items were exactly what I had ordered.  What impressed me was the concern and the follow up by A.J. Madison's customer service.  Very happy.  Oh, and the price was the best I found anywhere.  Would definitely shop with them again.

I would have to agree with the other reviewers complaining about AJ's customer service. I ordered a range and a microwave. The range was denied on both sides and a refused delivery. 2 weeks later I am still waiting for my refund to my credit card. Not to mention it literally took 30-50 calls (I really lost track) to get a live person. Low prices poor service.

Don't trust them even if they have the lowest prices.

I tried to buy 2 air conditioners but one was out of stock so I cancelled my order. 5 months later they bill my credit card and ship me the 2 air conditioners. I told them I had cancelled my order but they wouldn't refund my money and said I requested that they send the air conditioner when it was back in stock.

One air conditioner didn't work so I called them immediately and they said I should call the manufacturer. Right now I have a $500 AC sitting in my living room that doesn't work and AJ Madison refuses to do anything about.

My husband found the stove at AJ Madison via internet. We were very impressed with the speed of the delivery as we do live in the rural southwest where delivery can often be problematic.

The stove arrived in good condition and our local gas co. was able to install it the same day.

Needless to say, after a week without a functioning oven, we were thrilled.

We ordered a Bosch dishwasher. It was dropped by Yellow Freight Company. Instead of replacing it, A J Madison tried to coerce us into keeping the dishwasher and just replacing the door even though the body of the unit was also bent and we notified Madison of that problem immediately. Now after four weeks they have agreed to issue us a credit but still have not made arrangements to pick up the wrecked dishwasher. I just want to be rid of it and of them.

Delivery speed was appalling. I ordered two items, one of which took six weeks to arrive, the other took a mere four weeks but arrived damaged and had to be sent back.

Calling their customer "service" line involves 20-30 minutes on hold before you're put through to irritatingly disinterested callcenter staff who give you vague and misleading information.

They also have no way of automatically putting order tracking information onto the tracking page: you must call them up to find out the status of your order, typically receiving a different ETA each time. Only when you have the good fortune to call after your item(s) have shipped do you get the courtesy of a tracking number.

They also send items without a signature being required for receipt, yet their terms are "you must check your item for damage before accepting receipt". How are you supposed to check if you (a) don't receive updated tracking info, and (b) run the risk of fedex or ups just leaving the package at your doorstep without you being involved in receipt.

Artie Montesa is a great professional, and a skilled people's person. He can also give the customer technical tips, all sorts of advise, and he's very accomodating, his service is outstanding, and his knowledge of the industry, the appliances are very high. He's also very polite, and his manners are impecable.The crew that delivered my order was fast, clean, courteous, professional, helpful, and very well trained, they unpacked the unit, made sure everything was in good shape, and delivered it to the installation place. I plan to recommend Artie Montesa from AJ Madison to everyone I know that needs to purchase major appliances. 

I love the equipment itself and the price was better than our local store. The timing was terrible; we ordered end of April or early March and the equipment came mid June. Also, we were promised a $100 rebate on each of the items for a total of $300. We only received one $50 off rebate via e-mail. I wrote to the sales person, Solomon, asking him to correct this and never received a response. I was very disappointed with the service.

Although the experience buying online was what a customer should expect (e.g. good value, intuitive, multiple payment options, the customer service experience has much to be desired.
I purchased an outdoor grill top on May 17th with standard freight. Upon repeated checking of the order status Yellow Freight finally acknowledged receipt and transfer arrangements for June 4th. No delivery was ever made. For three days I have been unable to get AJ Madison via phone as the 800 number is continuously busy. I have since sent 3 emails with no responses. The time my wife and i have spent following up on this and taking off work to ensure we were home for delivery that never occurred is far more expensive then what we saved. As of this writing I still don't have a product, but AJ Madison has my money, it is an extremely bad experience. I believe if they were really committed to customer service I would not be posting this.

I just had a most amazing experience with AJ Madison. The item (refrigerator) was as advertised, delivery was FOUR DAYS after I ordered it, and I saved nearly $300 on the item. Customer service was efficient and pleasant and the delivery guys were equally as terrific. It's not that often that I experience great service and great value, so I felt that I needed to take a minute to thank AJ Madison and tell them "Well Done!" publicly. This is a great outfit.

AJ Madison does not stand behind the products they represent. I purchased a $500 microwave 2 months ago. Even though it has been serviced 4 times in that period they will take back the appliance; instead I am given the name of a repair company to contact for service. I wold not recommend this online company to anyone.

Contrary to some other comments, I found the customer service at AJ Madison to be quite responsive. We had slight damage to part of the stove we ordered, and they immediately ordered a replacement piece. The delivery was on time and the delivery person was extremely helpful in carrying two appliances up the stairs. I will definitely shop with them again.
