Akai LCT2060 20 in. EDTV-Ready LCD TV

Pros: Good looks off and good picture when on.
Cons: Sound quality is weak and the remote control codes won't work with Dish Network.

Purchased this model to go in my bedroom. I really like the black and silver look and the non-glare screen. The picture quality looks good right out of the box. Setup is easy. The sound is quite touchy with respect to volume control and as other reviewers have said the sound quality is thin. I returned the set because my Dish Network remote control does not have a code to work with this model and I really don't want to fiddle with two remotes in bed at night.

Pros: Great value, good picture quality
Cons: Durability !

Saw this set at Costco for a great price for a 20" LCD. I picked up 3 of them for my kids bedrooms. Got all 3 home, 1 of the sets did not work straight out of the box so I returned it for another. 1 week later the exchanged set quit working, the picture would flicker on and off so I returned this one for a refund. Then 3 weeks later one of the other sets quit working altogether. Sometimes a great value does not quite turn out that way. Thank goodness for hassle free returns at Costco.

Pros: I get to see how Costco honors it's return policy.
Cons: For me, AKAI is associated with the word JUNK and Costco should see these reviews.

Like others customers that went to Costco I also purchased the AKAI LCT2060 TV. My first set would not get local channels and the picture was anything but clear also the speakers sound like they came from an Ear Plug speaker set. My replacement, when first turned on, gets RED & BLUE lines through it. Usually with turning the TV off and right back on the picture is fine. My concern is that while some may consider a TV cheap at $399.00 I feel AKAI should be ashamed of itself for creating this model. This TV is on it's way back to Costco also.

Cons: Poor quality - 2 sets with the same problem with no picture.

Really a sharp, compact unit but not reliable. Got one from Costco just before Christmas but straight out of the box it didn't work. Returned it to Costco for a replacement. The second one had a great picture for about 2 months when all of a sudden the picture would flash off seconds after turning the set on. But after turning it off a couple time, the picture finally stayed on. But a couple days later, the picture went out all together. This one will go back to Costco only this time I think for a refund.
