I have to Justify my Love
I had to have one. When you first see an iPod, you wonder how some people can be so addicted to them. It's a little white box with a dial on it and a small LCD screen. What's the big deal? The big deal is...
The Research
If you're reading this review, you're looking for a good MP3 player. You're staring at the $500 price tag of the 20 gig iPod and saying "Man, that's just too expensive." You may even have surfed around looking for a better deal,...
Pros: An icon of design that is amazingly beautiful in form and function Cons: The software it comes with should be discarded and replaced with a free download.
I have been listening to MP3 based music for the last 3 years, I owned the very first Nomad Jukebox and just about every hard disk-based player since. The Apple iPod is a true masterpiece...but pricey. Just like other engineering marvels; the...
Pros: Excellent sound, attractive, many features, easy to use, large storage capacity, portability Cons: Pricey, no carrying case, software/communication issues, battery life, occasional crashes
I received the Apple iPod as a Christmas gift. It has turned out to be one of the bests gifts I have ever received. Why I like the iPod so much: Attractive design: The iPod has an attractive white exterior on the front with a shiny metal exterior ...
Pros: Slim and light design, very functional controls, excellent sound Cons: Pricey, horrible case, many problems with included MMJB software
When I read that Apple was going to release a 20GB iPod, I was estatic. I have always wanted an ipod because the other MP3 player I own (Archos Jukebox) is lacking in many features and functions. The bonus was that Apple was formatting it for PC, so I...
Pros: Amazing sound quality, 20GB storage, small, 20 MINUTE skip protection. Cons: Useful for MP3 only, menu system not completely intuitive at first.
There's some things that make perfect sense. There's other things that make no sense at all. It makes sense for Apple to make a PC-Compatible version of a unit that will sell well to people who favor the platform. It does NOT make sense for that same...
Pros: Best design; best audio quality; best user interface and useability. Cons: There really aren't any.
I bought the 20G iPod several weeks after it was first released, in August 2002. (At the time, previous iPods had increased in size from the original 5G to 10G, and the bump up to 20G was enough to get me to jump in). Since then, I've filled it with ...
Pros: Large capacity drive, easy and logical navigation, quick battery recharge Cons: Single fixed battery, shiny chrome rear casing scratches easily
$500 is a lot of money to spend on anything, especially a portable music player. I waited a long time for the iPod to come out for PC and bought an inferior MP3 player along the way (Nomad II). The iPod is actually worth the money. The 20GB capacity ...
Pros: All of your music with you, all of the time, great music management software Cons: not really a 12-hour battery
It started out as a dream in a little cube box, and turn to a reality last year. No, a necessity. If I forget this nifty piece of equipment at home for even a trip across town, I notice quickly. I am an iPod addict! The things I knew before I ...
Pros: Easy to use, fast downloading. Cons: Undependable battery (and unable to change battery), somewhat limited controller.
When I got the ipod, everything was good. I had 20G to play with, and I knew it was going to take only a few minutes to download it all.... and only an hour to charge the battery. :)
Once everything is ready, it is easy to be impressed (as well as...
Pros: Slim, portable, sound, backlite, easy to use Cons: doesn't work with all versoins of windows, software
I love this mp3 player. I was very unsure to hand out five hundred at first but the size and quality pulled me toward it. It has become my best friend in the world. I use it all the time and have had little to no problems with it.
Pros: Hefty storage; intuitive to use; reliable; Cons: MusicMatch sux! Battery issues (but this is everywhere); Expensive, but worth the money.
Well, maybe you can. I have read people complain about issues with theirs, and I was feeling a little cautious when I bought my iPod, but I've been fortunate enough to have no problems. The iPod is THE father, mother, grandfather and great-Uncle of ...
Pros: Slim and Light Body, Sturdy controls, Easy to use interface, MusicMatch plus included Cons: Learning curving getting to sync music with IPOD, Only Firewire connection w/ pc
The IPOD has renewed my love for my cd collection.
Having over 500 cds which have gathered dust for over 5 years, I am learning that this beautiful device can hold all my favorite and not-so-favorite songs.
Pros: too many to list Cons: use of musicmatch, which is easily swappable with itunes
Let me break it down for you. The ipod is the most useful and most convenient electronic device you will ever use. I know it sounds somewhat lazy, but i find it a pain to keep switching cd's if i want to listen to different songs. So i thought I would ...
Pros: Hello!!! Could there be a better product. No I don't think so. Cons: Some distortion at loudest volume level, but who wants to go deaf anyway?
I love my IPOD. Getting music on and off it os a cinch. The bundled musicmatch rocks. I have never had a single problem with the unit. The sound quality is spectacular. Its not so unusual anymore, but people still stare at it. Coolest hippest design out...
Pros: Great sound quality, great capacity, good battery life, easy interface Cons: Remote isn't useful
I waited until this unit became available for the PC. It's capacity (using 160 rip setting) is sufficient to hold over 275 CDs. The sound quality is excellent and the sound effects are functional. The earbuds are good quality and the unit performs as...
Pros: Fantastic hardware design,
Excellent accessories and add-ons,
Best storage. Cons: Software integration is awful (Musicmatch) for PC users, delicate little toy.
Easily the most user-friendly MP3 player on the market for PC users, the iPod for PC is one sweet to ...
I love this little device. I have my whole CD library, as well as hundreds of downloaded songs stored on my new toy. Why buy CDs again? Works amazingly well hooked up to my car stereo (through tape deck) and sounds even better on the home stereo...
Hope I just Got a Bad One by saltyone13 ,Dec 26 '04
Pros: Looks Nice Cons: Setup - Good Luck!
Huge wait time for HP support.
Spent about 3 straight hours trying to configure the iPod with my computer. The software loaded all right, but the computer simply would not recognize the iPod hardware. Kept getting a "reconfiguration necessary" message for the device. Went through this procedure several times to no avail.
After waiting "On Hold" connected to the HP support line for 67 minutes, I noticed that the iPod screen had gone from flashing a "Don't Disconnect" icon to one showing low power. Removed and put it on the charger to then discover that the screen had gone completely blank. Tried several times to get something back on the screen - no luck.
Took the unit back to Radio Shack and they are ordering me a new one. Hopefully, the new one will work - but after the hassle with this one, I'm certainly not going to hold my breath. Will update my opinion after the new one arrives. If similar woes occur, will take a refund and run like hell.
Pros: looks good, great sound, stylish, everything Cons: not even if i wanted there to be one.
The iPod was just another of Apples great ideas. The iPod is the worlds best mp3 player. I mean where else can you get 4000+ songs in your pocket, and it doesn't even weigh you down! If you are looking for a mp3 player then you must buy the iPod!
This is a great product. Its a little pricy, but works to your advantage. For People who dont want just the ordinary MP3 player, this one would get the job done, but only if you dont mind empty pockets
Yes, it is expensive but it is a technological marvel. Well thought out and designed. Leaves all other MP3 players I've owned and tested (with or without HD)in the dust. I put hundreds of albums on mine plus over 50 hours of lectures and still have tons of storage space remaining. Songs indexed by Playlist, Title, Genre, Author, etc. It is a snap to find the album or song you want. Try one. You will be AMAZED!
I just doesn't get any... by mp3guy_dt3000 ,Mar 13 '03
I just doesn't get any better than this. If you seriously want a player, this is it. This baby can hold the equivalent of a 500-CD library. Whoah. Apple has truly shown that the best doesn't always come last. In fact, the best really came first.
this is is amazing, its like my god, hah, but seriously, its so small so easy to use, and so damn pretty haha, everybody is amazed at the scroll wheel, i even got it for $414 ith shipping from Dell.com at a christmas sale, . . . the only down side is the musicmatch software that comes with it, it sucks, so get a program called ephpod (applies only to PC iPod users) that works like a charm
