Back To Basics Smoothie Maker

by boxerlover , Dec 24 '07
Pros: inexpensive, easy to clean
Cons: doesn't work half the time, motor goes out
I decided to go with the Back to basics smoothie maker, instead of a regular blender, because the only thing we really ever would use a blender for is smoothie and shakes anyway. The price was right at twenty dollars, and it was a little smaller ...

ok ,but doesn't come apart
by tcdcjean ,May 05 '08
Pros: works ok but only has one speed not two
Cons: don't come apart to clean
I bought this smoothie freeze because I thought it would work great because I make a lot of smoothies, an it does do what I wanted. The only problem I have is I can only clean the in side not the seal or take it apart. It is like glued together. That I don't like. The rubber seal in it is getting to look bad. You can't get ahold of the company that makes it either. I would have to say that they don't stand behind there product. Thank you

good then bad
by kc2dpt ,Sep 15 '06
Pros: Works great when it works.
Cons: Stopped working in a few days.
Made about 6 smoothies in about 3 days. Worked great. Easy to clean - just rinse under hot water. Easy to use. Then it suddenly stopped working. With no warning the "pulse" and "dispense" settings were completely dead with only the "high speed" setting working. On the one hand I guess I shouldn't expect much for $20 but on the other hand why bother even selling such a piece of junk?
