  • Not working on my deck

    Pros: Easy to apply
Cons: Any metal in contact with this will rust. Mileage may vary - a lot.

Summary: Put on the partially worn partially good mystery paint / opaque stain on the deck that came attached to my house - most likely latex paint. On a trial spot it worked reasonably well, so I put it on 1/2 of the large deck and kept wet for 30-60 minutes ... read more

Pros: Final results and finished deck looks real nice.
Cons: Vertical surfaces difficult to strip. Scrubbing is a must. Used more product, water than expected.

Summary: My deck is 18x12. I used almost 4 gallons of the stuff. And the stripping process took almost 30 hours. My first mistake was thinking that I'd strip the deck rails as well as the decking... so the color would be consistent. Never again, unless the ... read more

    Oct 17, 2005 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Not difficult to apply. Gallon goes a long way.
Cons: Slippery when wet. Didn't remove some of the solid stain.

Summary: Behr. “An apt name for a stripper,” he mused, with a hint of a leering smirk on his face. For a moment holographic-like visions of strippers gyrating on his deck emerged, but quickly dissipated as he clenched the deck stripper in the ... read more

Pros: Worked great on oil-based treatment!
Cons: It is slippery. It took about 4 gallons to cover 400 sq ft.

Summary: I used this to remove a 3-year old coating of Sherwin Williams Cuprinol from a pressure treated deck. Using a pump sprayer I covered a 5' by 5' area and waited 15 minutes. Even though the directions say not to pressure wash, the nozzle I used did not do ... read more

  • Behr Premium Plus Interior Paint

    Pros: Lots of attractive colors
Cons: Junk! Runny, thin, and works like a cheap brand paint

Summary: I have used Behr paint in the past with exceptional results. However, their paint has become nothing more than a "cheap" paint nowadays. It is now thin, runny, and does not cover well (it took 3 coats to cover over an eggshell color on my walls!). I ... read more
