For birdwatching, I prefer the similarly priced Nikon Monarch ATBs. The Nikons are lighter, close focus is much better, and they focus more quickly. Clarity and brightness are equivalent.

Bright image, good control of colour dispersion, good sharpness, but depth of field is not very good. reasonable price but . . .

The 6.5x is much more pleasing than the 8.5x. �Two stars for 8.5x, Would be four for 6.5x. Keep in mind they are butterfly not birding binoculars.

If you can tolerate the weight and the narrow field of view, this may be the binocular for you. Otherwise, you can find cheaper alternatives in Orion or Bushnell.

For those binocular with objective diameter below 30mm, the image is not bright enough for long time observation otherwise . . .
