GOD IS NOT GREAT: HOW RELIGION POISONS EVERYTHING by CHRISTOPHER HITCHENS is a fascinating read. If you believe in God, he's not out to turn you into an atheist, but he gives a pretty compelling argument that organized religion is one of the most destructive forces the world has ever experienced. He even shows how Buddhism played a large role in fanning the flames for Japan to enter World War 2. Hitchens is a surly drunk Brit who's always entertaining to see on TV, and I was pleased to see that his wit and intelligence translates well in print.
