Portrays a realistic account of a doctor's suffering when seeing his dying child. by monegundis Pros: Raises awareness about the methods that are made use of in the meat industry.
Cons: Gross details. This is one book that shows the heart-wrenching pain of a father who is unable to do anything for his dying daughter. Once full of vitality and sparkle, she grows listless and unresponsive, finally dying as the toxin she consumed had eaten her up (literally) from inside.

And all this happened in just a span of a few days. This book is very touching. It shows the grief and determination of a father who has lost his child. The main thing is that although he himself is a renowned surgeon, he is helpless when it comes to saving his daughter. That is a huge contributor to his mental anguish. |

I did not like this book. by kaylaaa Pros: Shows responsibility and hardships in life.
Cons: Bloody, graphic, and to violent and too emotional.I hated it sooo much!!! I did not like this book one bit.It made animals seem unimportant and basically like a plant. It has no feelings and it only helps who it is feeding or whoever is selling it. Animlas do have feelings and do feel pain just like people do.This book is against everything i stand for and value.I would never reccomend this to anyone esspecially children.

I don't consider myself an idiot when it comes to parenting, so I took some of the advice in this book with a grain of salt. It was very, very helpful, otherwise. There are many people who might not feel as confident as I do, and do not have access to an informative health care provider or other helpful source. If they follow the overall advice in this book, they'll do just fine. With experience comes the ability to distinguish perceived "fact" from "fiction". I consider one other reviewer's attitude in this Epinion section to be unnecessarily harsh, to the point of being unhelpful. I don't think anyone should shy away from this book. I especially liked the (separate) pregnancy planner, too. It was great for writing things down to ask at OB/GYN appointments, or just to remember later, 'cause my memory was a little untrustworthy (hopefully it was just the hormones)!!! The recipes are, in fact, delicious, and the oatmeal cookies are my son's favorite still, and he's almost 10 years old. |

Incredible book. Offers the reader full, rich, excellent information by avg_user Pros: Great information, easy to read and learn. Couldn't put it down.
Cons: I wish it were out on the market a year ago. Though now is good. Most books I have found in this category seem to be a lot of fluff with one or two tidbits of information. This book is full of excellent information from cover to cover.

I loved chapters 2 & 3. 2 - Stop playing resume roulette 3 - Your interview is over. They were astounding. I can't believe how many of the items I didn't know. (I did know a couple of the secrets). |

Best novel i've ever read by jesse_b Pros: Well-constructed plot and characters, cleverly constructed ending.
Cons: It ended so suddenly, i would have liked to have kept reading, maybe a sequel? I am a 15 year old student who reads a lot and finished reading David Baldacci's 'The Winner' about a month ago. The Winner is one of the best novels i've read.I found the book very enthralling, i couldn't bear to put it down for a second. Baldacci is a brilliant writer who has cleverly constructed a plot to keep the reader interested the whole way through. Whoever says that this book wasn't very good has a deranged way of thinking. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading some of his other novels in the future.

Uprooted by marymoundros Pros: Lovers of language will be immediately seduced by the grace of Lahiri's prose.
Cons: When writing is this good, you don't want the book to end. In her newest collection of stories, Jhumpa Lahiri continues to explore the themes of uprootedness and fractured identity, themes that informed her previous collection, "Interpreter of Maladies" as well as her novel, "The Namesake." In "Unaccustomed Earth" Lahiri's exquisite craftsmanship and finely-nuanced understandings once again result in tales that are painfully beautiful and haunting. These are multi-faceted gems.

Excellent series by ettina Pros: very kind portrayal of autism, a great portrayal of autism in a different culture
Cons: The plot is a bit repetitive I recently bought a book of this entire serious translated into English, and it is a wonderful story. I love the mother's attitude towards her son - she's certainly not the 'they ruin my dinner party' type I see so often in US and Canada. Her big focus is on connecting with Hikaru and helping him find his place in the world. She had trouble accepting his autism, and for a year after the diagnosis was first suggested she completely ignored it, but she did accept him eventually, rather than equating acceptance with giving up.

Thrilling Author by ramser Pros: Thrilling, Exciting, Unpredictable
Cons: None Dennis Lehane is a great author which was recommended to me by my school's book store associate. I started off with the first book in the series and worked my way up to Gone, Baby, Gone. His style of writing is so great because he hooks the audience from the beginning of the book and does not let them go until the unpredictable end. Gone, Baby, Gone was by far the most exciting book of the series but they are all good. After you read the book I recommend seeing the movie.

Great book to learn Data Warehouse by gregp_aussie Pros: A lot of examples
Cons: None Being a person from Oracle database background, I found this book is very easy to understand and to follow. A lot of examples and fundamental theory have been provided in this book. It helps a lot to map between my Oracle knowledge to SQL Server. I believe this book has been written by an SQL Server expert with broad knowledge of other database's stuff and it presented without loosing focus on Datawarehousing.

The End... and something extra by ailiam Pros: Spectacular read, well written, good close.
Cons: Heart wrenching deaths, followed by a chapter that is not necessary. The final book in the spectacular series, and it will have you on the edge of your seat until you finish it. I have always been a fan of the Potter series and finished this book in two days, and it was a bitter sweet read. The book is written by a great author and when you get to the end of the book you will be more than satisfied... then there is an imagination killing, series ending chapter that I disagreed with. That;s right, the last chapter is an epilogue that not only tells you there wont be another book but also tells you how the author sees the future of the Potter world.
