Coby DVD-755 Theater System

Pros: It's cheap and so is the price
Cons: It's CHEAP!

I received the "Coby" unit today and the center speaker doesn't work, the DVD player has lines that move around the screen and the remote control battery cover falls off. And I tried several DVD's with the same result. I did the math of shipping it back for a replacement and if I have to pay the shipping twice more than the unit is a wash and not worth the additional expense. So, over all you are a prompt seller but this product is basically junk. I purchase many electronics on the Internet and usually receive good quality merchandise at 50% of typical retail value. This was not one of those items. You may want to think about the wording you use when describing this low-grade unit. And the unit wont play audio from an outside source - like a TV. Sure if I was in prison I would like this unit - but I'm not. Thanks again for the experience.

Pros: Price. DVD/MP3/JPG/CD/VCD playback. Sound quality. Digital audio outputs.
Cons: very delicate and must be handled like a baby.

I bought this 3 months back but i think it's a decent buy.

i got it for less than the usual price at a popular retailer and the only thing that made me buy this is the price.


it plays DVDs, mp3's ( they don't put this on the box or the specs but it does play mp3's). jpgs, and most of other disc types. it does not play divx.

basically it does the job. remote only works if you point it directly to the dvd player and press it slowly. one needs to have patience with this dvdplayer. if you press it hard or more than once the dvd gets ejected. :) or the unit freezes.

so be careful dealing with the remote and only use it to a minimum. :)

sound quality is amazing for the money you pay. plays dvd's fabulously......even decodes Dolby Digital 5.1 and outputs surround sound flawlessly.
