Pros: Very compact size, built in 8 ft cables and ease of operation Cons: none yet
We found ourselves in a difficult situation a while and we needed a simple solution. We had to run two separate networks in one of our work areas, but the users were limited on desk space. It was going to be very difficult to have two sets of monitors, ...

Pros: Cheap, effective way to control two computers with one console. Cons: I only wished, I knew of this product earlier.
This is so embarrassing. I consider myself a gadget freak and a geek; I did not even know the solution of one of my problem is so easily solved. Like most people, I replace computers every few years and I am faced with the problem of what to do with ...

This is a great product.
by lf4gt7g ,Jan 08 '04
Pros: Easy to set up/use, keeps high quality video signal, plenty of supplied cord length. Cons: Wish I bought it long ago.
Using two Dell machines, one with 95 the other with XP home. Using standard Ps/2 keyboard and intelelliMouse. Plugged it all in and it's working great. If I set both video cards to the same resolution and refresh rate, 32bit 1024X768 75Hz, there is no delay, click etc. when switching over from one computer to the other. This is great, I'm so excited over such a small thing. The video quality seems to be exactly the same which is good because I use my computer for scanning and printing high resolution photos. If you have a CompUsa near buy you can pick one up for $50. Otherwise search around for best price and get it shipped to your door.

You can get it cheaper!
by symcorr ,Dec 09 '03
Pros: It supports high resolution monitors perfectly! Cons: adding a ps2 connector to your usb mouse or keyboard gets tight!
This is an awesome product for the price.. Nice length on the cables and the high resolution support is a must have. I searched the web for this but found it cheap.

Works well with a little undocumented tip
by rjp0503 ,Feb 24 '06
Pros: inexpensive / simple to use / all cables included Cons: troubleshooting guide should include the tip I mention / no buttons on the unit
I find it does exactly what I need, at a great price. It worked right the first time I set it up. Sometimes it won't work though as documented. If double hitting the scroll lock key doesn't make the light flash, then what I do is change the order...hold down the number first and then double hit the scroll lock key. I have to do that about 1 out of every 10 times I want to switch. Not a big deal.

I was disappointed
by mickius ,Jul 04 '05
Pros: None Cons: Many. See above.
I have an older H-P Pentium II machine and a newer H-P Pentium 4. Both with PS/2 and VGA. This Belkin KVM model only works when I turn on my older machine first, followed by my newer machine. If I turn on the newer machine first, the keyboard and mouse lock up. I can not switch using hot keys. I then have to start the older machine and let it boot up and then restart the newer machine. After that both work just fine. I had planned to keep the older machine turned off most of the time and only use it to back up files from the new machine now and then. I called Belkin's tech support and they said there was probably not enough power being provided from the new machine's PS/2 keyboard connector and that I would probably have to use a KVM switch with an auxillary power supply. Bummer.
