Pros: Wide range of sizes. Excellent quality. Comfortable. Cons: You can't show off your belly button jewelry in these.
Ive been wearing Levi 505 red tag since 1974. Prior to that time, my mom made my pants or bought jeans in colors and any color other than blue. My mom grew up on a farm with Depression era parents. It was a real shame to have to wear blue jeans...

Pros: The 505 is a Classic Cons: -
For years, Levi Strauss & Co. was the name you wanted in a pair of jeans. They had all the styles you can possibly want, in almost all the sizes you can ever want. But, then came the 1980s, the 90s, and today. People's tastes changed,...

changing jeans
by cmjeans ,Oct 07 '05
Pros: They are still blue. Cons: They don't fit like they used to.
I have been buying 505's for several years and have appreciated the fit. This year I have noticed the fit and
quality of the jeans has changed. They seem cheaper and
thinner and don't fit as well.
I was told that they have moved their production facility overseas.
I think this was a bad Idea. I would rather pay more and get good quality than to sacrifice quality for price.

They've Gone Downhill
by rover27 ,Nov 12 '05
Pros: Not Many Cons: Cheaper, thinner, and don't fit well.
I've been wearing 505's for many years. Always loved the way they wore and looked. I bought a new pair several months ago and thought I had gotten a bad pair. I happened to mention this to a friend, and she said she had noticed the same thing. They are not even close to the OLD 505's. They are much thinner in weight, feel cheap, and don't have the old 505 fit. I called the Levi company and they did say there had been changes in the past few years. The new 505's stink! Bring back the old 505's.

Grievin' over my 505's
by jferguson1850 ,May 14 '06
Pros: My review, I'm afraid, is all negative. Why force me to tell a lie? Why? Cons: Nothing about the new 505's is the same.
I used to live in 'em. They clung to me like my skin. Almost stood up when I took them off. Hugged me tight after washing. And now? Nothing about the new 505's is the same. Not the fabric, not the fit, not the look. It's the end of an era.
Does anyone know of a jean that fits and feels like the old 505's?
