Pros: It's still the same old E.T. you know and love! Cons: Digital enhancement is fascinating, but at the same time, it can be distracting...
What great times these are! I'm just barely old enough to remember movies such as E.T. and Star Wars from when I was a kid. We're a pretty lucky generation in that we had the opportunity four years ago to experience Star Wars on...
Pros: Original, sweet storyline; Spielberg's enchanting direction Cons: None!
When Steven Spielberg’s "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" originally opened in theaters in June 1982, I had only just recently celebrated my fourth birthday.
I didn’t see the film until years later, when Drew Barrymore was already on the cover of...
Pros: Full family fun, you'll laugh, cry, and cheer -- a roller-coaster ride leaving everyone talking. Cons: E.T. has no down side. It should have drowned in numerous awards.
You want to see a grown man cry E.T. is just the movie to make it happen. Unless he's stone cold dead, I don't think anyone could possible watch this movie without shedding a few tears. This heartwarming story touches the deepest fear we all have ...
Pros: Beautiful, beautiful story, cast, music,...everything! Cons: None--I only wish I looked this good 20 years later
Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial is 20 years old, and if it weren't so early in the year, I'd still say it's the best movie of 2002. I don't want to know from cynics who sit and pick apart every plot point that doesn't fit into their...
This movie moves people. I remember watching this movie as a kid and seeing it now, it still brings a tear to my eye. The whole plot going from the struggle to the flying bike over the moon is everything a movie needs. The motifs about discrimination ...
Since virtually everyone has either seen or heard of E.T., I won't waste space by summarizing the movie. But what CAN I say about E.T.? I love that movie! I'm 21 years old and I still went to see it in the movies when they re-released it. And yes, I...
Pros: A magical modern fairy tale worth a revisit Cons: Kids younger than 6 may need pre-education, and comforting
E.T was our Easter break family movie, with all the kids from 20 yr old daughter, complete with boyfriend, to our 5 year old twins. The new print made the movie positively incandescent with light and magic. It's a classic fairy tale, and if you're a bit...
Pros: There's nothing like viewing it on the big screen, sound and picture quality is wonderful Cons: Extra scenes don't add anything and other changes take away some of the classic's reality
I saw ET 9 times in the theater as a kid, and countless times on video since then. Now that my kids are finally old enough to watch it, I pulled out my old video copy and shared it with them -- and when I saw it was coming back to the big screen, it...
Pros: Better special effects and scenes were added that were left out the the first time. Cons: none
The 20th anniversary re-release of E.T. was a return to a time of innocence in the movie industry. This movie reminded me of what we,as a society, enjoyed in a good movie 20 years earlier. There were no gun fights, threat of nuclear war,or horrifying...
Pros: It made me laugh and made me cry. Cons: I don't feel there were any.
I Loved the movie very much. I haven't seen it since i was 12 yrs old 21 yrs ago. I felt it was a very touching, moving, emotional movie. It showed how a beautiful little boy and alien could become friends. It showed such caring from the boy that he was...
Pros: Very classic movie that deserves a re-release. C'mon its E.T.!! Cons: Cons... did we see the same movie!!!
I think this movie is FUN! The release of Reeses Pieces! The funny way aliens run! The little glowing finger!
It's just genius to me. Now I'm saying this compared to other movies of its day. Of course movies have come a long way since then...
Pros: kid-oriented, lots of life lessons Cons: none
i wasn't able to see this film back when i was a kid but i have always been familiar with it. a few years ago i purchased a DVD copy and it was like the kid in me took over and relived the wonderful memories E.T. brought to kids during that time. With the charm of the characters overflowing in the film...adults can look back on their childhood and reminisce the feelings they had when they first saw the film. It's definitely something the kids of today should watch out for. These are the kind of films we should let the kids see over and over...the kind of film that teaches a lot of life lessons.

Pros: One of the best orchestrated movies I have ever seen Cons: It makes you cry...a lot
One of Steven Speilberg's best movies ever, throughout every stage of my life I remember fondly and sometimes tear up thinking about the movie. So Glad they Re-Released it and especially glad I have all three copies...original on VHS, original DVD special and the Re-Release...think I will leave these as my legacy as to prove that the world was innocent once.
