by Freak369 Freak369 is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Home and Garden, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, May 31 '03
Pros: Blocks out most noise, comfortable, easy to use, inexpensive.
Cons: May take a little time to get used to.

I never know what they were called.
I never knew I’d need them.
After 72 hours of excruciating pain, I’m glad that I broke down and gave them a try.

Earlier in the week I started to...

Over 40 years of satisfaction!!!
by dialog-13 ,Oct 11 '03
Pros: Perfectly conform to seal off air from the ear canal.
Cons: None.
I first used Flents Anti-Noise Ear Stopples in 1963, while trying to study in the main library at the University of Florida. They shut out the chatter of inconsiderate fellow students and allowed concentration. I've used them throughout the years to enable a noise-free sleep, especially in southern California, where police helicopters are constantly droning overhead. And now, I wouldn't know how to sleep well without the silence provided by Flents Anti-Noise Ear Stopples.

Great for city noise
by jocksoto ,Jul 25 '05
Pros: When fresh, very effective and comfortable to wear!
Cons: Leave wax deposit in ear. Only lasts a couple of weeks.
I live near a major road and upstairs from a late-night pizza shop, but I also have a small baby I need to keep an ear out for. These do a great job of blocking our the obnoxious noise while allowing me to hear what I need to hear.

That said, they get dirty and icky after a couple of weeks, as well as less flexible and ineffective. They can't be washed, so I throw them out and take out a fresh pair.

Why I buy Flents Wax and Cotton Ear Stopples
by laurie62 ,Jun 24 '05
Pros: They work well and stay in well.
Cons: I am unable to buy them in Canada anymore.
I use Flents wax and cotton ear stopples because I find them the best on the market for stopping noise while I am sleeping. I also find that they are easy to insert and they stay in well. I am a very light sleeper.

HELP I need Flents Ear Stopples! :)
by wizard50q ,Jul 21 '05
Pros: The only product that cuts out 100% of all sounds.
Cons: Nope can't think of any.
I started using Flents Ear Stopples when my wife was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and had to start using a CPAP machine. I've been using them now over 20 years but the store I always bought them out stopped carrying them. :( On more thing that only long time users will have noticed.

The color has changed over the years from pink to lighter pink to a tannish pink and then to solid white now. And the stopples have gotten slightly less thick but they still work great!

Good if you are allergic to latex foam
by ztm1 ,Sep 11 '06
Pros: I'm not allergic to them!
Cons: They deform significantly due to melting.
As you might have guessed from the title, I am allergic to latex, which seems to be used in most earplugs. I finally decided to investigate whether any earplugs were NOT made from foam and found these. They work! They don't make my ears itch! The only downside is that being wax, they do melt, and this deforms the shape of them substantially. But I have been able to reuse them - the first pair I have tried - several times, despite that.

Flents are now poor quality
by rtda ,Aug 03 '09
Pros: Soft wax earplugs are the best if you can find a good product.
Cons: Flents quality are now hard to use and very uncomfortable.
I used Flents Soft Wax Earplugs for 25 years, and they used to be excellent. But since the company was purchased by Apothecary several years ago, they have cut back on the wax content to save money and now the quality is inconsistent.  Don't waste your money!
