Pros: The story great and probably as realistic as they get. Cons: The sad parts are really sad.
I absolutely loved this book. I usually don't like books that are from the past but this one caught my interest. I am very glad I read this book. You can follow Bea and Amadea through one of the worst times in history. Bea falls in love with the wrong man. Then she is disowned to live with him and his Aunt and Uncle. She is Jewish and from Germany he is Catholic and from France. Her brothers are in the war fighting for Germany and He was in the war fighting for France. It has been a while since I have read this book and I don't remember all the names. I apologize. She ends up converting to be catholic and they are wed. This book will make you laugh, cry and fear the worst.
