YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE .... N O T !!!!

by Donnie013 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Mar 22 '06
Pros: Can't think of any
Cons: dim light, magnetic field, too much shaking goin' on!
I’m not really a sucker for every gizmo and gadget that comes along but when something sounds good, I do like to give it a try. After all, if I didn’t, I’d never have found all those wonderful little things I have around my kitchen. One ...

EverLife Flashlight - Shake It Up & Light It Up!

by ladyconsumer Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Aug 24 '05
Pros: No batteries... this flashlight will ALWAYS work!
Cons: Light lasts only around 5 minutes. Would prefer a real on/off switch.
A flashlight with no bulb, no a/c adapter, and no batteries??? Can it really be??? Yes! Have you ever needed a flashlight, but you can't find any fresh batteries? At home when the power goes out, or in the car when you break down, or even just ...

Good in an Emergency
by mti14 ,Mar 24 '07
Pros: If you had a car emergency at night it would be very helpful.
Cons: There are better quality "Shake lights" out there.
I own two of these lights. I bought mine at a large drug store in the hardware department. It came with two of them, small and a large for $20.00 The small light you have to keep the button pressed down all the time for the light to stay on. Not so on the large light, that light stays on all the time after you press it. It seems to require more shaking then other "shake" lights to maintain a good light beam. I also own other brand name "shake" lights and this one is among the lower quality of the brands. I won't mention the other brand names but there appears to be a fair amount of difference in quality in these products. All of them work, it's just up to you on the amount of money you want to spend for good quality; but in an emergency? it does work!

Poor Product - Company (Manufacturer in China)
by waterwheel ,Oct 27 '05
Pros: It can be used with a discharged battery after vigorous shaking.
Cons: Needs battery to function. Inadequate light produced. Transparent housing allows light in your eyes.
The flashlight does not work as advertised. It runs on two button lithium batteries that do need to be replaced when they are discharged. The flashlight produces so little light that I had to hold it within six inches of the door knob in order to be able to see the key hole so that I could insert the key. The claim that it can be seen over one mile is false. (The batteries are hidden inside the flashlight just in front of the switch that turns the light on or off.)

When used to light a path at night, I could not see tree roots and stumbled. The transparent housing allows light to shine into your eyes making it difficult to keep your night vision or see what you are shining the light on. (Wrapping the housing with black electrician's tape makes the light more acceptable to use at night.)

When I contacted the flashlight's website, they say they only take orders and deliver the orders to the manufacturer in China. If I had purchased the light from them directly, they would replace it with another but since I did not do that, they will do nothing.

EverLife Flashlight Good Product, bad company
by gunmanx ,Aug 31 '05
Pros: Works as expected, no surprises.
Cons: Customer Support is horrible and not trustworthy.
The flashlights are tough, waterproof and work just like the commercial claims. However, the company has some issues with customer support. I ordered four of these flashlights after watching the commercial on TV. I waited around 6 weeks or so for them to arrive. When they did not show up, I called the customer support department at EverLife and they claimed that my order never shipped and it would be 6 more weeks. I then canceled my order. About two weeks later, I received my four flashlights in the mail and my credit card was charged. When we called to inquire about the flashlights, they said that the order was canceled, but they were told by management to ship them out. They claimed that they would refund our card, but they never did refund the charge. We ended up keeps the flash lights anyhow.

Everlife flashlight
by vlang77 ,Feb 19 '06
Pros: Worked alright for the first 2 weeks.
Cons: Visibility poor (fluorescent light does not go far). Total waste of money.
I purchased product this winter. This flashlight is highly unreliable. It worked once or twice and I cannot get it to work again no matter how long we shake it. Visibility is poor; fluorescent light doesn't reach more than a couple of feet. Don't waste your money!

Where are you?
by patient-lass ,Apr 24 '06
Pros: ? Would love to find out.
Cons: ? Would love to find out.
Ordered and paid for my flashlights on December 15th. Called end of December to see what the status of my order was. They said it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get the flashlights! Bummer! It is now April 24th (17 weeks later) and still no flashlights. (Patient aren't I?)Wrote to customer service - the address I was directed to on the net - and that address is not in service. (Why am I surprised?) I would really like to see my flashlights or my money credited to my credit card account.

Say! I found these knock-off brands of the same flashlights at a flea market. The small lights were a buck and big ones were $1.50. They work great - even picked up one a week after I shook it and it still lit up! I went back to the flea market and bought one for everyone in my family! Maybe Everlife has been outdone!

Not A Good Product Or Company
by dstaten ,Nov 07 '05
Pros: No batteries required. You shake it as in the commercial and it does charge.
Cons: Dim light focused in a very small area. Terrible customer service.
I "super-sized" my order. Four months later and I only received one of the three flashlights I ordered. The flashlight works, but produces a dim light beam that is focused to a six inch area.

Two emails to customer service, and still have not received the remainder of my order.

You are better off getting a real flashlight and keeping a good stock of batteries or using re-chargable batteries.

Watch out for double billing !
by i_am_retired ,Oct 06 '05
Pros: Works as advertised
Cons: Not as bright a beam as expected.
Sometimes companies mistakenly bill or ship a SECOND ORDER, and that is what happened with me. I contacted their customer service and received a prompt and courteous reply, but it took TWO EMAILS for them to understand that my complaint was for DUPLICATED ORDERS and charges: not for having received two flashlights.

They advertise that you can see the light beam from a mile away. THINK ABOUT IT: You can see the light of stars from BILLIONS OF MILES away, but starlight cannot even illuminate your face.
