Pros: Very friendly staff, quick service, great cars. Cons: No instructions on how to operate a hybrid vehicle.
I recently travelled to Los Angeles for a week on business, and during my planning, I found a blurb online about this rental company that rented hybrid vehicles. I booked a Toyota Prius, and got a great rate of around $35 per day, which actually beat my ...
On our last trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico, we decided to try out this new option that was being offered by Orbitz. We usually go with Budget but considering this was an emergency trip we decided to go with the cheapest one in order to save some money. ...
Pros: The car itself (Chrysler PT Cruiser) was relatively new, clean, and drove well. Cons: Everything I stated above.
I booked a car from Fox through Expedia. Expedia's share (I now come to find) was $84.64, yet I was charged this amount in addition to "my share" of $93.99. Now it's a month after I rented the car, and I received my credit card bill ...
Pros: Wonderful kind fast...good on everything Cons: Car size catagory a little off
We reserved a full size car through their website at a rate of $24.50 a day and $10 for the aditional hour. I checked the rate the day before we left, and saw that it went down to $16.50/day and $10 for the hour. Fantastic - so I rebooked it. We arrived ...
Pros: Nice car choices, friendly employees, good shuttle service, low prices Cons: One person at the desk can make for a long wait for pick-up/drop-off
Rented a Civic Hybrid from Fox at the Orange County/John Wayne Airport. I suppose this was through their EV Rentals division. Unlike most other reviews out there we have virtually nothing bad to say about them at all. The car was just fine, ...
Pros: friendly and patient staff; very competitive rates; open late Cons: shuttle, lines at counter take additional time; quality varies depending on location, staff
I had heard terrible things about this company, but our experience with them was very positive. We chose this company because for rental cars near the San Francisco Airport, they are much more competitive than other agencies. It was a choice of ...
Pros: Cheap Cons: Poor customer service, long wait for the car, Not worth it
I have had very bad experience in renting the car from Fox Rental on 6/14/2008, 11am, at San Jose Airport. I mentioned 12pm as my approximate rental pickup time, and due to 30 minutes delay with Atlanta-SJC flight, me and my wife reached fox rental ...
Pros: NONE Cons: Deceptive business practices / Lack of Integrity / Poor Customer Service / Theft by Employees
Got scammed the second I walked in the door - was told the car I reserved is no longer at that location (San Diego)and given a car much smaller and a down grade, but offered an upgrade at additional $$. the upgrade was a POJ they did switch out vehicles ...
Pros: Cheap. Cons: Poorly maintained cars. Little customer service. Poor regard for customer safety.
I recently rented a car from Fox via Expedia.com. The price was cheap. The car was nice to look at inside and out but I thought I was literally going to die coming back down from the ski hill. When I left the rental yard I didn't have a problem but ...
Pros: Cheap Cons: Too many regulations, badly treat customer, beware of driving their car too far
I'm an international student who live in CA and Fox was the first rental car company that I used because I was attracted with the price deal. I used their service for about a year and I had been their loyal customer until Summer 2005, I rent their car to ...
Pros: Price (but not worth it) Cons: Location, Old Cars, Bad Customer Service.
Man, this place was awful. Avoid at all costs! 1. The car was in terrible condition 55K+ miles and half bald tires. The key wouldn't come out of the ignition half the time. After a few days I realized I had to put it in ...
Pros: No pros Cons: Office away from airport. Airport shuttle do not serve their locations Customer service not responsive
I had reserved the car at the vegas airport starting Friday night 10.00 pm. My flight got delayed by 3 hrs and reached at 1.00 am sat. There rental office was closed by then. (Offices of all the other rental companies were open 24 hrs). I was left ...
Pros: Nothing - The Worst! Cons: Everything. Being taken advantage of.
I can not say enough bad things about my experience at Salt Lake City - the first rental car they tried to "give me" had a flat tire and the agent told me to take it to a gas station and fill it up with air - which was unacceptable. After half an hour of going back and forth with the worst agent I have ever dealt with they gave me a "new" car which had almost 30 thousand miles on it. The company refused to honor any of my coupons printed from their website, and I watched them tell the gentlemen in front of me that he would have to pay to upgrade his car since they overbooked his vehicle class. You truly get what you pay for - they are conniving, and will try and screw you in the end. Stick with a major brand, trust me, it will pay off in the long run.
Pros: Cheap!!! Cons: Older fleet of vehicles (40,00+ miles) Very beat up Smelly cars Mean sales people
It took (3) cars for me to get a safe care. The first one rattled horribly. I returned it the next morning, and the agent never appologized and didn't seem to care. As we drove away with the second car, the airbag warning ligh and alarm kept going off for an hour. I returned THAT car the next afternoon and the male agent was surly and gave me a car that was in HORRIFIC condition, smelled funny, the door was falling apart, but I was so annoyed that I figured that this was as good as it would get. This is a CHEAP service, and I will NOT be renting form FOX again for business trips, the $40 I saved was not worth the extra 3-4 hours of time it took to deal with the anciend and ailning fleet of cars.
Pros: Car was clean and, although bare bones, and it operated well. Cons: Nit picking inspection on return was absurd. Unbelievable, really.
Rented a Jeep Patriot at Salt Lake City. Upon return, the agent (who must really enjoy her significant authority) x-rayed the car. She found an extremely small rock chip near the wiper blade (about 1/16th inch diameter). She then called over a mechanic and asked him if it was a defect that would crack. His 'professional advise' was "no". This rock chip was so small that it surprised me she even saw it. I certainly didn't. I'm quite sure the chip didn't happen during my rental period - only 2 days - since I did not hear anything hit the windshield. But, if the mechanic had given even an 'it's possible' or other luke warm reply, I'm sure I'd have wound up buying them a new windschield to the tune of about $350 or more. CRAZY!
