Garmin Street Pilot
by clockyer ,Mar 27 '08
Pros: Nice large screen easy to see Cons: upgrading software is expensive
If you're venturing into unfamiliar territory, this device is the greatest. It makes navigating dark or foggy streets much easier too, you know your turn is coming before you pass it.
I got mine as a gift before I got into Real Estate, it's a big help for finding addresses or for finding your way home from an unfamiliar city. Do not get a small screen GPS, spring for the large screen like this one. The small screens are too difficult to see when you are driving.
My only gripe is, that when it comes time to upgrade the software....it is expensive. If you don't upgrade, then new construction will be a mystery.

Large vehicle GPS
by drakon6 ,May 24 '06
Pros: Sharp image, easy to use, great satellite reception Cons: "current map" info appears to be at least 5 years out of date
Owned for 4 weeks. Drove 4,000 miles from Milwaukee to Phoenix & back in a Ford F250. With a Moonroof & the unit sitting on the cup holder I never lost the signal. On a F150, no moonroof mounted in the same position for about 300 miles I've lost the signal twice but not when mounted on the dash. Auto light dimming feature is excellent. The screen is extremely clear in spite of relatively low resolution. In a pinch it could be used in a smaller vehicle but not on the dash. Recalculating route is a little slow but not an issue. Occasionally indicates to make a U turn instead of going around the block & sometimes uses a road name instead of I670 etc. Internal speaker could have a little more volume. At 80% it was difficult to hear over a audio CD. Dead reckoning feature needs to be installed by a professional. But it is an OUTSTANDING GPS!
