Pros: Easy to use. Compact. Light weight. Very accurate. An abundance of features. Cons: No wind vane. Wind speed only to 89MPH.

More than I expected!

Pros: Very easy to figure out, highly responsive, highly accurate. Cons: I wish it would go to -40F. Otherwise it's perfect.
I tried several other handheld weather instruments and they were all lacking in some way; some wouldn't go cold enough and others took 30 minutes to resolve the temperature. I happened across the Kestrel and thought I'd give it a try, and it is everything I wanted.
I use a wireless Davis Vantage Pro setup at home and this Kestrel is nearly as nice and it goes in your pocket. It has graphing functions with adjustable data storage rates, and it is VERY sensitive to environmental conditions. It takes less than 1mph wind to start it, and it will resolve a temperature drop from "indoors" to -20F in a minute or so.
It's easy to use with gloves on, it's waterproof and has a field-replaceable anemometer... what more can you ask for?
