Pros: Compact, auto shut off, easy to empty tank , easy to remove items..
Cons: loud, cracks after about 6 months..or plastic deteriorates for some unknown reason,

I have owned 3 of this exact model and was sure to purchase the protection plan... because of my experiences with similar units from other companies... What happens is that I am assuming it is the jewelry cleaner (that sits in the tank for an extended period) somehow causes the plastic tank to dissolve and crack... I know it sounds crazy... but 3 of them from Sharper Image and 1 from another company and they all did this over time.( about 6 months then it starts to crack) Thankfully Sharper Image stands by the protection plan ($11.95 per replacement) and sends you another unit.

I don’t keep the unit near any heating sources, in fact It is kept on my bathroom sink, not near any irons or blow-dryers...it is just a mystery that all of sudden a crack/leak/deterioration develops..

Pros: Good for "in a pinch" quick cleaning or cleaning large quantities.
Cons: Nothing beats a good old elbow grease cleaning.

I got one of these for my wife's rings because I got tired of using that stupid jar of store cleaner and the little tooth brush thingie that comes with it. I read a review that said it was the best thing since sliced bread so I got it. I'll admit that it was a pretty good chunk of change for this thing. Even with a good sharper image coupon deal or something.

It works pretty good - passable for clean- but doesn't quite get the diamonds sparkling like the store can. Sometimes a combination of the tooth brush thingie and the SI cleaner is required (and the rings are not overly dirty).

It's good for a quick job - but seems to be doing a better job than it really is with all it's buzzing and clicking.

Pros: Works great and compact size.
Cons: Cleaner solution sold separately.

I got this product 2 years ago when I got engaged to clean my engagement ring. It works wonderfully. I can't go to the jewelry store everyday to have my ring cleaned, so I use this daily. It keeps my ring even more beautiful.
