Pros: Funny, sympathetic and with plenty of emotional zing, this first novel is a winner. Cons: I wish I had found this one earlier.
After hearing about this one, and seeing it being sent out as a 'hold request' on an almost continual basis where I work, I was bound to check it out sooner or later.
Welcome to the world of Cannie (short for Candace) Shapiro, resident of...

Pros: Many women can identify with the relationship aspects experienced by Cannie. Cons: The author lost all control of her story line about 1/3 of the way through.
It's almost Summer and you know what that means. Time to read those smut books. You know - books that don't add a lot of brain power to your noggin. Books that allow you to escape from the ho-hum, dull-drums of adult responsibilities.
Yep,...

Pros: Page turner. Fun with a message. Cons: A few odd plot twists that don't ring quite right.
“I’ll never forget the day I found out my girlfriend weighed more than I did,” wrote Bruce in his new Good in Bed column for Moxie magazine. Breaking up is hard enough without seeing all the details in print for the whole world to read once ...

Pros: Plus-sized protagonist, great writing style Cons: you have to suspend disbelief for about the last half of the book
I actually received Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner from a friend who thought I'd enjoy it. I'm still not sure if she thought I'd enjoy it because she thought it was a good book or because I'm a plus-sized woman, but I definitely had a different ...

Pros: Funny protagonist, quick story Cons: mediocre voicing, abridged, little supportive character development
This review pertains to the audio book version of Good In Bed. I realize that I have found Jennifer Weiner’s first novel, Good In Bed a little past its 2002 release date, but in all fairness, the audio version didn’t come out until 2005 ...

Pros: smart and successful plus-sized heroine Cons: very angry and bitter plus-sized heroine
I had read Good In Bed several years ago and didn't remember much about it other than I didn't really like it. Having read Jennifer Weiner's other novels this summer and enjoying them, I decided to give her first book a second chance. Surely I ...

Pros: some funny situations, diction Cons: characterization, too perfect
After receiving a gift certificate from Amazon.com, I purchased Jennifer Weiners Good in Bed. It seemed like a fun book, plus the idea of a plus sized heroine is always appealing. Plus, I got the book for a really good price. So I read it ...

Pros: Fast paced, and witty. Can't put it down! Cons: Can't put it down so much I fell asleep with it on my face!
"Loving a larger woman is an act of courage in this world, and maybe it’s even an act of futility. Because, in loving C., I knew I was loving someone who didn’t believe that she herself was worthy of anyone’s love. "
Imagine...

Pros: moves quickly, light often funny read Cons: very much solely a girly book
Jennifer Weiner, the author of Good in Bed is also the author of Little Earthquakes, Goodnight Nobody, The Guy Not Taken, and In Her shoes which was made into a major motion picture starring Cameron Diaz. However, it is the first of her works that I ...

Pros: main character is, at bottom, relatable Cons: absurd plot twists, contradictory character aspects
My overall response to Good in Bed is that it is a generally ordinary book, and is obviously the authors first book, because, while often enjoyable, it is rote at times, and far-fetched at others, and sometimes both simultaneously (yet not...

Pros: Fun, Easy to Read, Enjoyable. Cons: Somewhat unbelievable at times.
Meet Cannie Shapiro. Fun, quick-witted and eager young woman. Oh, did I mention that her ex-boyfriend has just written about loving a "larger woman" named "C." in a national magazine? Yes, that's right. Cannie Shapiro is a size 16 and now the entire...

Pros: fun and entertaining with not-too-strong "lesson" Cons: none!
If you're looking for the next great novel, this probably isn't it. But if you're looking for a book that's not too heavy, funny, and extremely entertaining, then this is the book for you! Because I hate people who ruin books before you can read ...

Pros: fun, sentimental, witty Cons: sappy, painful at times, strictly women's issues
It can be difficult to read books that are as painfully truthful as Jennifer Weiner's first novel. However, "Good In Bed", while painful at times, is also fun and touching.
In the book, we meet Cannie (a thouroughly modern woman struggling...

Pros: quick read, funny Cons: a little sad toward the end
Lets see if I can give a review without giving away the book.
Well, this book was a fun read. I read it on the beach in about 2 days. The 375 pages go very quickly.
The title is deceiving because the book doesn't have much to do about...

Pros: Touching. Cons: Advertising
The dust jacket said the book was hilarious among other things, and sometimes the book was funny. But I think the advertisement tried to make people think it was a light and funny laugh out loud read like Bridget Jones, when the book was funny at times,...
