Details: Trollope's 35th novel is a slight, uncomplicated story set on a sheep farm in Australia that is based on Trollope's son Fred's place in New South Wales. (He even included Fred's Chinese cook.) Harry Heathcote opposes the marriage between his sister and a neighboring farmer, Giles Medlicot, with whom he doesn't get along, until Medlicot helps control a fire set by Heathcote's true enemies.
