An experiment in mediocrity.

My experience with HollywebDVD is one of resignation, and I've been with them for 6 months of dissapointment so far. Especially since Rent-A-DVD has closed temporarily, this is the only online rental in Canada with a good selection. They only have 7000 movies and their foreign movies pickings are slim.
Envelopes : Their envelopes are pretty crappy and easy to rip up accidentally.
Delivery speed : they're in Alberta, but the speed is pretty good. I'd say average.
Customer service : They don't order movies you request, which is despicable. Otherwise, the service is OK.
DVD quality : Average - they are obviously overextending their stock.
Web site ease of use : Their site is pretty crappy, both in design and functionality. It does that it has to do, but nothing more. Consulting movies is tedious and the search function is erratic at best.
Price : 26$CAN for 4 DVDs at a time. That's better than any other place I've seen. Well, you get what you paid for.
Overall satisfaction : I'm generally satisfied of this service as a secondary online rental place, but if you only want one, wait until Rent-A-DVD comes back next year.
