  • A good mower for small/medium lawns

    Jul 02 '07
Pros: Easy to use, good mulching, even cut
Cons: Handle hard to fold, on/off/safety switch broke after 4 months of use

Summary: (updated 7/30/07 - see below) I have looked at rechargeable lawn mowers ever since I saw the first Black and Decker model at a Home Depot and the price has always turned me off. I am the kind of person who will go to a garage sale and buy and old ... read more

  • Great Mower... Batteries easily replaced.

    May 07 '12
Pros: Easy, quiet, batteries easily replaced. Making a better future for my children!
Cons: None so far... have owned it about 3 years!

Summary: I am on my third mowing season and my batteries finally need replaced. Thought it was going to be REALLY bad beacause of all the nasty "I had to replace my batteries" comments. Come on... it's a rechargable mower, of course the batteries are going to go ... read more

  • Caution with HomeLite Mowers

    Sep 14 '11
    Pros: - low maintenance
    - enough power to do an urban lawn easily
Cons: - battery lifespan is poor
    - bag is difficult to empty
    - rear flap interferes with blade

Summary: I purchased the mower from Home Depot two years ago and I have to say that by far the biggest concern is that getting parts has been a royal pain. I will get to that at the end.The mower turns on well enough and cuts even somewhat long grass ... read more

  • Good Idea, badly executed

    Aug 30 '11
Pros: No pull start, no gas, no oilLow carbon footprintReasonable weight and maneuverabilityReasonably quiet
Cons: Poor serviceabilityPoor quality componentsPoor service response

Summary: Bought mine for a 6000 sq foot lawn spring 2007.  Parts were very hard to find, help line and owner's manual (lists the entire mower deck, including motor, electronic charging control, deck, batteries and cover as a single part number) all but ... read more

  • I'm very disappointed by the poor service at Home Depot

    Aug 29 '11
Pros: Easy to use and environment friendly
Cons: Terrible service and the back flap sticks under the machine

Summary: I am a retired woman with very weak wrists and thought this lawnmower would be the perfect solution for me.  It was expensive ($390) and worked well for one year.  It died on my final mowing in 2010 and I had to drive 3 hours each way to have ... read more

  • Poorly Manufactured Model

    Jul 29 '11
Pros: It's electric and no gas is consumed. Quieter than gas.
Cons: OEM Battery is short lived and too expensive.

Summary: The model was poorly manufactured in my case. One of the battery cells (of two) was isolated (not a part of the circuit) during assembly. Probably a careless assembler. It worked on a single cell, with reduced power for two seasons. Then it wouldn't hold ... read more

  • Good Idea, Poor Quality, Hard to Find Parts

    Jun 12 '11
Pros: Quieter than a gas mower; no exhaust fumes.
Cons: Crappy batteries provided from the factory; charger doesn't last very long either.

Summary: I bought a cordless electric mower for two reasons.1. I wanted to spend less money on gasoline.2. Cordless because I don't want kids to mow over the extension cord. The salesman in Home Depot said that the quality of Homelite is as good as ... read more

  • Short Battery Life = Expensive Lawn Mower

    Aug 31 '10
Pros: Low noise, easy to use. No issues with starting or mixing gas.
Cons: Short battery life. Grassguard gets chewed up if you pull the mower backwards.

Summary: I have a small lawn and the battery last only two years. Finding a replacement is very difficult and costs $140 to replace (parts only). This is my second and last cordless lawn mower. The first was a Black and Decker which had the same short battery ... read more

  • Serious buyers remorse

    Jun 07 '10
    Pros: Quiet; no exhaust fumes
Cons: Battery issues infuriating and costly (~$100.00 per season); uneven cut due to weak battery.

Summary: I purchased a Homelite 24 volt cordless mower after downsizing from a four-acre lawn to a 1/4-acre lawn. The idea of using electricity generated from our own solar array and avoiding the use of gasoline in many garden-care products was appealing on many ... read more

  • Overall good mower, replacement parts hard to find

    Sep 14 '09
Pros: ease of use, relatively quiet, no messing with gas/oil or gasoline engine
Cons: replacement parts are hard to find, Homelite is horrible at helping with service

Summary: I bought the UT13122 model in spring 2008 and had no trouble until September 2009. I have a very small lawn (I live in an end-unit townhouse), which takes about 30 minutes to mow the entire lawn and the charge stays consistent the entire time. The height ... read more

  • Homelite mower is hard to maneuver and has a short battery life.

    Aug 22 '09
Pros: The mower cut and mulched well when it was new.  It is relatively quiet.
Cons: Heavy and hard to maneuver.  Battery lasted only 2 mowing seasons and is expensive.

Summary: I previously had a battery lawn mower (different brand) that finally gave out after 7 or 8 years of use.  When I tried to replace it, I found that there were very few to choose from at the local stores.  I selected the Homelite brand because it ... read more

  • Very Good Cordless Mower

    Jul 17 '09
Pros: Great price. Good cutting ability. Adequate mulching. Quiet. Simple to recharge.
Cons: Back protector flap is 50% gone. Difficult to turn. Handle covering beginning to split.

Summary: Bought the Homelite 24V Cordless Lawn Mower (UT13122) in early fall of 2008. It was on sale a Home Depot, actually mismarked tag which should have been on the mower next to it; $225.00. However, it was already assembled but lacked the charger, ... read more

  • Not fully baked yet.

    May 02 '09
Pros: Quiet, no gasoline/oil, removable battery pack, ball-bearing wheels, side discharge, mulch, or rear bagging.
Cons: Underpowered, poor bagging, heavy, cheap plastic handle knobs/control lever, battery charger cooks the battey pack.

Summary: I bought this mower at Home Depot for $229, should be $329. It was mis-marked and the Clerk in Lawn & Garden said I could have it for the marked price. Mind you, I have a 1985 Honda gasoline push mower HR-194 that is still working perfectly, which ... read more

  • Homelite no more..........

    Feb 20 '09
Pros: Good cut. No trailing leads or messing about with oil and petrol.
Cons: Long charge up period. Still not certain about battery performance.

Summary: As I have some grass a fair way from the house I thought I'd go for this model as it was on sale and bought it cheap. I am always put off by "green" battery driven garden tools due to short running time and long charging time and also how ... read more

  • Nice concept, poorly executed

    Dec 13 '08
Pros: It is always ready to go, and you don't smell like exhaust after mowing.
Cons: I was dispointed in the build quality.

Summary: My yard is a postage stamp - so small I can mow it in less than 10 minutes.  It is perfect for a small, battery powered mower.  In owning one, I've found that electric mowers are great for a number of reasons.  You never go out to mow and ... read more

  • Love it - UPDATE

    May 25 '08
Pros: Quick start up, no maintenance, no gas mixing, no exhaust; very environmental friendly!
    Cons: a little heavy

Summary: My wife and I are very environmentally conscious. This is something that started with recycling and a compost pile, and has grown to looking into a windmill for our power source, as well as looking into solar alternatives for our hot water heater and ... read more
