Pros: Easy to use, battery backup, backlit touchscreen display, detachable for "armchair programming" Cons: Somewhat expensive, but energy savings WILL pay for it within a couple of months.
Summary: UPDATED March 13, 2005 UPDATED March 31, 2005 (updates toward end) Why a programmable thermostat? I recently moved to a new house and the heating bill the first month was insane! After some experimentation I found out that if I just wear ... read more

Pros: Lots of features and versatile applications. For basic setups, easy installation. Cons: So far no problems.
Summary: I had a problem. I have 4 heating zones in my house and I had a thermostat for 2 BR's in a small hallway at the top of a stairway. 1 of these bedrooms is a nursery and the door is often left closed. However, the thermostat in the hallway was always ... read more

Pros: Compliant to most situations +. Easy install, accurate, easy adjusted. Cons: None
Summary: The PRO 8000 was bought since it was able to control my fan only as an entity in part of a complete system. *My background is varied, from skilled trades, design, engineering, service, teaching in technology. *This particular T-stat does not need a ... read more

Pros: See above. Cons: See above.
Summary: Bottom line: It's going back on ebay. Pros: 1. It looks great and was easy to set up. 2. You can take it off the wall to program. Cons: 1. Maybe the 8500 has the option but the 7500 definitely does not have a temperature "swing" control. ... read more

Pros: -Lots of (very useful) features
-Tight temperature control
-Well designed Cons: -No traditional "swing" control (but I've discovered this isn't a problem--see my review.)
Summary: I bought this Honeywell, and was at first discontented, as were other reviewers, at the lack of "swing" control. (BTW, you can control the "cycle rate," which I THINK nikiwind must have been refering to, but that is not the exact same thing as "swing.") ... read more

Pros: Probably better then most of the stuff you find in Big Box stores. Cons: Not the real deal, features missing from the professional versions.
Summary: First off lets get something straight, the RTH8500 is not a full featured VisionPRO thermostat, it is a cut down version manufactured for the big box stores and sold at what I think is an unreasonable price given the cost of the full featured ... read more

Pros: Easy to install. Easy to use. Cons: Without back light on a little hard to read.
Summary: The review from Richro1965 just about says it all. Very easy to install. Honeywell has a website where you can get the install instructions. Check it out first before you buy one to see how easy it is. Bought a new one in a sealed box on Ebay for

Pros: Touchscreen, easy to program, temperature override features excellent! Cons: No adjustable temperature differential.
Summary: Yes, this is the most awesome, user friendly thermostat I have ever used. The touchscreen and ease of programming and temp override options make this the cream of the crop. But it's missing one feature that I feel all thermostats should have, and
