"Man that's off the f**king chain"

by roaddogxviii , Apr 21 '07
Pros: Great cast; funny and suspenseful at the same time (a rarity in the action-comedy genre)
Cons: Uh, yeah right.
Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is a top cop in London's precinct, but because he's responsible for solving all the crimes, his colleagues have been made to all look bad. Forced to move to the Sanford precinct, Nick must also work with Danny Butterman (Nick ...

HOT FUZZ: The English version of Bad Boys

by cripper Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Apr 21 '07
Pros: Most of the things
Cons: One or two minor things
I realise that I start off a lot of my writings here at Epinions by saying that I wanted to watch a certain film or movie but was not entirely sure what drew me to watch it. Again, Hot Fuzz is another film that, for some reason, I had intended to ...

It's a sleepy English village versus the fuzz!

by hist , May 22 '07
Pros: Great acting, hilarious dialogue and scenes
Cons: two movies in one, too many climaxes (good in other things but not movies)
I first became a fan of Simon Pegg with his critically-acclaimed Shaun of the Dead, which was a wonderful film but suffered a bit from feeling like two different movies smashed together. Even so, I enjoyed it enough that I couldn't wait to see ...

Hot Fuzz delivers - more than expected

by WhtdoIKnow , Jun 17 '07
Pros: Fantastic Script + Great Performances by the entire wonderful cast, Very funny and entertaining
Cons: None - unless you consider some random gore a con.
For a change “Hot Fuzz” delivered much more than its marketing promised. This was a very pleasant surprise and in sharp contrast to another recent example of film marketing/reality, the very poor " Fracture" ...

Hot Fuzz, my diggities

by updateghost Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, May 10 '07
Pros: Consistency, script, direction, performances.
Cons: Takes its time ending?
I once wrote that S haun of the Dead was the "funniest [movie] I've EVER seen, period." After seeing Borat, that's not so true anymore; plus Shaun's second viewing simply wasn't as good because I had ...

Here come the Fuzz!

by xmovieloverx , Jul 30 '07
Pros: Funny, great acting
Cons: It's not perfect
With myself being half British, I've always been a huge fan of their humor. In my opinion, their comedies easily top the average American ones. Walking into Hot Fuzz, I was expecting a very funny film. Well, the flick didn't disappoint... After ...

Lower Your Expectations To Fully Enjoy

by jhilgeman , Jul 25 '07
Pros: Good story, good acting, and moderately funny.
Cons: Too much hype.
By the time I watched this movie, everyone and their kitchen sinks were telling me how funny this movie was. That truly ruined it for me, I think, because I came out saying, "Eh, it was okay." I LOVED Shaun of the Dead and hoped for more of the same ...

Bring the Noise Mate... Let's Show Americans How We Brits Do It!

by thevoid99 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Apr 21 '07
Pros: Direction, Story, Soundtrack, Humor, Look, Locations, & Cast.
Cons: A Bit Slow at Times.
In 2004, British director Edgar Wright and his co-screenwriter Simon Pegg scored a massive cult hit with a zombie movie spoof Shaun of the Dead. The film, that also starred their Spaced co-stars Nick Frost and Jessica Stevenson, was a ...

A Guilty Pleasure

by xenoranger , Aug 21 '07
Pros: Tongue in Cheek Humor
Good Action
Abbot & Costello/Odd Couple Charm
Cons: Excessive Gore
Profanity
To be honest, Shawn of the Dead was a guilty pleasure. When I heard that Simon Pegg & Nick Frost were teaming up for a second movie, I had no choice but to watch. Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is a brilliant officer. He's so good that his dependability ...

Unleash the Hot Fuzz

by phungus phungus is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Movies, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Jun 07 '07
Pros: Great cast, very funny
Cons: Not as much action as the trailer implies
Hot Fuzz is a hilarious British action/comedy from the same people who made Shaun of the Dead. It debuted in the UK on Valentine’s Day this year, then found its way to U.S. theaters one month later. While this movie hasn’t been as big a hit ...

'Village of the Damned'

by immortalcritic , Apr 22 '07
Pros: Pegg's poker-face expressions....violently happy shooting scenes
Cons: the action takes a mighty long time to happen...could've ended quicker
Sergeant Nicholas Angel(Simon Pegg)is such an exceptional policeman that his efficiency reflects badly on his peers. He is a serious man who tackles crime as if his life depends on it and by the end of "Hot Fuzz" absolutely nothing will change that ...

Hot Fuzz, No Super Troopers

by kycop28 , May 03 '07
Pros: Action, Humor
Cons: Bllodshed, plot.
I saw this movie last week after much anticipation after seeing the previews. Myself being a Police Officer, I HAD to see this. I loved "Super Troopers" and figured this was going to be a spin off from this movie but a New England version instead. I ...

At least I knew what to expect from shaun of the dead.

by quarternotes , Sep 25 '07
Pros: It didn't come out third rated.
Cons: Seriously too many categories. (horror/drama/comedy/action. Confused.
HOT FUZZ PLOT Nicholas Angel (Simon Peg)is london's premier overqualified super cop, who, thanks to his comrades watching him overexceed his performance in his duties, is soon reassigned to a sleepy little village in Gloucestershire, called ...

Bang For The Buck
Laugh Out Loud Daft
by pgrundy ,Dec 20 '07
Pros: Hilarious, surprising, crazy
Cons: A bit vulgar (in a good way)--not for kids
This movie starts out with some subtle humor and by the end builds to total, over-the-top insanity. If you liked the guys in Shawn of the Dead, these are the same guys, and you will like them even more in this movie.

British comedy doesn't always translate here in the US. But this story of a British cop assigned to a small town due to his over-zealous devotion to his work is hilarious, even though much of material is uniquely British. Unfortunately, I can't share my favorite scenes without including major spoilers in this review, but suffice it to say, you will be surprised by this movie, and often, and you will be laughing hard at the same time.

I would watch this movie again, and probably again, just for the laughs. And I can't wait for their next enterprise.

well worth the time!
by bigwank666 ,Aug 02 '07
Pros: funny, good characters
Cons: sometimes its hard to understand the accent
Ive seen shaun of the dead, but i really didnt know what to expect with this film, but i believe thats the best way to see something is WITHOUT expectations. Im going to keep this short n sweet, the pace of the movie was good, the action was good, theres many funny parts, yet it is a murder/mystery/comedy/action film is what id call it! The use of catch phrases from other movies is a bit overdone and very unoriginal in my opinion, overall though its pretty funny and keeps you trying to figure out who the bad guy or guys are until the end.
