I was very disappointed in the hotel because it was not what is was promised to be. Our room was supposed to be ocean front and was not.

A safe recommendation, but if you want amenities such as a pool, room service, and a front desk, not for you.

We enjoyed our first 2 days there for the most part despite the few annoyances. However, there is no excuse for awfully we were treated by management.

The actual hotel stay was nice, but skip dining in the restaurant unless it is for the free breakfast.

The Excelsior is about location and comfortable rooms. If these are your priorities, you'll love it.

If I were to stay in Providence again, I'd mostly likely either go to the Westin or a less expensive hotel.
