    Cons: Too many to say

    Bad Service

Summary: Hughesnet is the biggest rip-off on the face of the earth. It's very expensive for the pathetic internet reception we get. I live on a very isolated farm in NJ and my only other option for internet would be dial-up. Hughesnet is maybe, at best, a step up ... read more

Pros: There are no pros that I can think of.
Cons: Cost of equipment, monthly cost, slow service, Horrible rude support.

Summary: We live out in the country so our internet service options are limited. We can get dial up, Hughes or an air card. Since the aircard limits you to 5 gigs, we opted to try Hughes. It was all just a huge waste of money. The initial cost of the equipment ... read more

Pros: Voice mail automated attendant actually understands English
Cons: Customer support doesn't speak English, can't understand a basic, fundamental problem

Summary: This review is of HughesNet customer service. First off, I've been a customer of HughesNet since 2007. As a rural customer, satellite is my only "fast" Internet option. When in such a predicament, you take the least of the evils, and in our neck of the ... read more

Pros: High speed internet at normal rates of usage for about an hour per day.
Cons: That special "you've just been Madoffed" feeling for the remaining 23 hours, KY not included...

    - Super Slow
    - Limited Downloading
    - Very poor customer service

Summary: We have had hughesnet now for two years.  We live in a remote area and really had to choose between hughesnet and dialup, so we did hughesnet because I need reliable internet as I attend a university online.  I cannot even count the number of ... read more

Cons: Unreliable,  expensive, Under Performs.  Many outages.   Arrogant customer service.

Summary: We bought Hughesnet after checking all the options available at our rural Illinois location.  We had dial up, and 56k was too slow to load many web pages, or, to upload pictures to eBay.  Web pages and uploads would time out before they were ... read more
