Pros: Amusing answers to childs imaginative questions Cons: The name of the child is not revealed in the story
Many weeks ago I did a search of the database here using the word “love” for a write off that I was participating in. Along the way I found a few books of interest so I placed them on my wish list and then placed a hold at the Los Angeles Public...

Pros: beautifully written and illustrated, important message Cons: none
Although this is a children’s book review, this epinion could just as easily be placed in the Category of Children and Self Esteem. The book “I Love You, Stinky Face”, written by Lisa McCourt and illustrated by Cyd Moore, is a...

Pros: Imaginative and silly. Cons: I wish it were crayon proof!
We received this book through a book club and instantly my toddler was intrigued by the name. The story is about a mother tucking her son into bed, but the child has a question...as they always do at bedtime :)! "Mama what if I were a big scary ape. ...

This is one of my favorite books to read to my daughter. It is a engaging story of how a mother's love for her child is unconditional.
The child questions the mother, "Would you love me if I were..." and the mother answers...

Pros: wonderful story line, and colorful pictures Cons: none
I read the reviews on this book and was curious. I thought that this book sounded cute and that our daughter would like it. I knew that my wife would love the name of it. I was more curious about why it was called "I Love You Stinky Face" than...

Pros: Great self esteem builder Cons: none
This is one of the best children's story books we have read. Every night when my children were little I would read this to them before they went to bed and now as they are older they will still occasionally come to me and ask me to read it...

Pros: Easy to read. Entertaining for the little ones Cons: None
It is a wonderful book to teach children about unconditional love, the kind of love that a mother feels for her child which is not dependent at all on the outside appearance of that child, that mothers always see the inner beauty in their child. It is...

Delightful! A Favorite in our Library!
by mamabook ,May 24 '04
Pros: ReAssures of Mom's love, Fosters Creativity Cons: ????
I LOVE YOU STINKY FACE is a delightful children's picture book! It is the story of a mother putting her little boy to bed. As she is tucking him in, he comes up with wild scenerios in which he is an "unlovable" creature and then askes his mother if she would still love him. Mother's imagionative replies detail how she would care for and love the boy, regardless of the circumstances. The book's message is easily found...a mother's love is everlasting. This is a wonderfully re-assuring book for children of all ages. In addition to reassurance, the book fosters creativity....encouraging the reader to create his/her own "would you love me then, mama?" scenerios. The pictures add to the book's lovability. Definate MUST for every young person's library!!
