Pros: low cost, compact, has many features, plays many formats Cons: Looks cheap, battery slightly below average
I came to Best Buy to buy the Insignia 7 inch portable DVD player and ended up with the Insignia 8 (Insignia NS-8PDVD) because for only $5 more I get an 8 inch player. Looking at the cheap price I don't expect much, but when I had the time to use it I ...

Pros: Well, it came in a nice package that was well organized. Cons: Refuses to show colors, no customer service from Insignia.

The Third One
by golowdrew ,Jul 17 '07
Pros: Low price. Large screen. Comes with everything you need in the box. Cons: Did not last long.
This is a great DVD player. It looks modern, light, and rather good build quality. The color is good, like any portable DVD player in the price range. However, the player stop working with no warning after 3 months. We were able to return it for an exchange. The second one will sometime skip, and the white balance color is all off, like there is "no color." No adjustment could resolve it. I will be returning it soon for a third. Am I disappointed? Not really because I have had low expectations for these portable DVD players, after some research. Or maybe because I only paid $69 new, so I don't expect it to last as long as a traditional full size player.
** Update: I decided to keep it since it still works. The problems are still there, but it's for my two year old son. Plus, I just did have the time or the energy to go and return/exchange it. My 90 days was up with the retail store, so I would have to deal with the manufacture, which I don't want to do. If this was a $200 DVD player I would feel different.
