Pros: Very powerful, very loud. Tremendous bass. High quality. Solidly built. Remote operates Cassette-deck too. Cons: Very heavy. Awkward shape. Somewhat unbalanced bass-heavy sound. Pre-set eq controls.
The JVC RV-NB1 is a new version of the original "Kaboom" box that was first introduced some years ago. I first saw that original unit on HSN with a price tag of approx $350. The Kaboom box line may be the most powerful line of boomboxes ever made, ...

Pros: Great sound, straight to the point operation & good remote. Cons: Heavy, batteri sucking, all plastick very limited weather proof.
My first experience with a kaboom box from JVC goes back to around 90'. Back then it was really cool to have a portable deck with a real sub. The deck had lots of thick rubber at the ends as well as a particular quality feel. You could leave in light ...

Pros: Very good audio for a boom box
Easy to adjust
Very durable Cons: Bulky and heavy
When my wife was about to teach a summer class in Hawaiian dancing, I ordered the JVC box. At the time, we did not know for sure she what size class she would have, or the size of the room. We had looked at several different boomboxes at Target, and ...

Pros: Great sound quality, conveniently placed controls, it is a true mobile stereo rack equivalent Cons: Better if bass output of 60hz to 150hz without distortion is possible.
The RV-NB1 produces serious sound for a unit its size, and from my experience using it for 6 months now, its more tailored for today's music than earlier recordings. The bass output is mainly 60hz, which suits dance type of music with nice after-boom ...

Damn good but....
by chrislarge ,Feb 16 '07
Pros: BASS BASS BASS, Its LOUD and does nt distort. Makes midi/micro hi fi redundant Cons: HUGE,heavy, costs handsomely to fly with, but once you turn it on, all is forgotten!
Huge in every way, Massive sound, huge bass.Plats mp3's, incredible range for the remote control. Very versatile, turn the bass down and it will play other types of music. The only concern is its so big and heavy it cost £36 each way to take on holiday as it was excess baggage not hand luggage. No other portable i have heard comes close to the sound quality especially whilst cranked up. Best classed as semi portable. Recommended but check out its sheer size.

Pros: Great sound for a boom box Cons: Little heave, but thats ok. Don't move it alot.
I love this boombox. It has great base & plays my MP3"s. It's a little heavy so if you will be moving it alot you might get bothered. But to me it's well worth the sound. I use my jvc every day. The price is a little much, but you get what you pay for. I had a Sony MP3. took it camping. SAD. Took my jvc camping. Oh Yah!
