Kenwood brought out the Reference series amplifiers to compete with higher end amplifier companys. The X1R is capable of putting out a lot of power and does it very efficiently. This mono amplifier is actually pretty small in size compared to other mono amplifiers offering the same power levels. The X1R looks the part too. It's all black with a blue LCD screen that can display volts, internal temp, amps, ect. both low pass filters and high pass filters are built into the amp. as well as full contact terminals and a dual power supply.
I've had this amp for about 8 months now and i use it hard every day. i have it hooked up to a JL audio 13w7 wired up in series to deliver 900 watts RMS @ 3 ohms. it never over heats, it's extremely accurate, and like i said before, it looks great. i would HIGHLY recomend reading more into this amplifier if you're looking at a JL Audio 1000/1 mono amp or anything comparable to that.
