Kicker L5 SoloBaric 12"
by Smansky ,Jan 04 '04
Pros: Deep Boomy Powerful Bass Cons: Mediocre responsiveness and flexibility
I bought these subs this summer and was really impressed by how loud they can get. These are great for deep boomy bass and definately get noticed when you drive down the street. I have 2 of them hooked up to an SPL 1200 watt amp in a custom box built to factory specs. They are wired in parallel and still pound. These subs are great for deep bass, but if you are looking for a tighter, more responsive sound then these are not for you. There is a noticeable dropoff in volume at frequencies above the specifications of the sub but that does not detract from the fact that these are definate head turners. The bass actually knocked the lock on the back hatch of my Explorer loose. The subs do rattle everything in the car, but it is only noticeably outside, not in the cabin. If this bothers you , I recommend using Dynamat to eliminate this.
