    (Show)
Pros: PROS?  Well, it did last four years of very infrequent use.
Cons: CONS: It broke!  No margaritas!  What more can I say?  DISASTER!

Summary: Just like others, coupling went all squishy when we pulled out the blender for the first margaritas of the summer - TOTAL bummer!  The remaining rubber can be permanently molded like a stiff clay. The exact same thing happened to the ... read more

    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: quiet
Cons: poor coupling design, jar lip design drools, blade assembly will eventually leak

Summary: We have had our KitchenAid KSB5WW4 blender for only four years and just yesterday the black rubber coupling also disintegrated like so many other people's have done. Interestingly enough, ours didn't loose any teeth, rather the rubber became all soft ... read more

Pros: Sturdy (too heavy?) glass blender.
    Cons: Substandard manufacturing/parts.

Summary: I agree with the majority of comments posted here. The Coupling on my KitchenAid Blender shredded to bits mixing a simple shake. Meanwhile, the Hamilton-Beach Blender I bought for $30 in 1998 continues to work like a charm. The KitchenAid Blender ... read more

Pros: Seemingly powerful motor; everything was great until the coupler broke
Cons: An unacceptably flawed and defective part that so many people have had a problem with.

Pros: Easy Fix. This is not rocket science.
    Cons: Some mechanical skills needed.

Summary: I've had my KA blender for about 7 or 8 years. NEVER any trouble. My Daughter-in-law bought one a few years ago, and the coupling failed within 6 months. She couldn't give it away, or get it fixed. Sounds like those folks who had bad luck got stuck with ... read more

Pros: None. A $150 MSRP blender is pretty useless when it burns up after a year.
Cons: Bad product design and even worse customer service.

Summary: This was supposed to be premium blender. However, after just a few uses the black coupling burned up and now there are no parts available. Kitchenaid refused to service the item. Apparently, this is not uncommon in Kitchenaid products these days. ... read more

    Pros: None.
Cons: Built-in failure part in a high priced "premium" branded product.

Summary: Truly a bad design idea in a premium priced home appliance. When the coupling on my KSB5WH4 KitchenAid blender failed after about 1 year's use, I contacted KitchenAid Customer Service. They told me that they consider this a "self-sacrificing" part. I ... read more
