Pros: Prevents my flour from escaping my mixer!
Cons: Prevents me from scraping the sides of the mixing bowl, when in place.

Pros: Reduces clean up, allows ingredients to be added without turning off the machine
Cons: Sometimes dry ingredients stick to the pouring ramp;
Sometimes dry ingredients escape the shield

Pros: Allows you to continue mixing while adding liquids with less splatter!
Cons: Can be a bit cumbersome for the clumsy (like me).
