Pros: flexibility, healthy food, and the biggie - I am losing weight! Cons: cost and for some the 3 weighs a week could be too much.
After trying to diet on my own for many years, trying Jenny Craig, checking into Lindora, doing Atkins, etc. I feel I am basically becoming an expert in the dieting world. Knowing that eating right and exercising regularly will be the best way to go. The ...
Pros: Program includes journal, so you can keep track of what you have eaten. Cons: Unhealthy diet, difficult, expensive, unsuccessful, pressure to buy their products, no flexibility. Lotsa fine print...
WHY LA weight loss for me? SO, it just so happened that I hit my all time frustration level with losing my baby weight and LA weight loss was running a special on 1/2 off the fee. I think they used some kind of advanced algebra to find out how long ...
Pros: NONE! Cons: They don't care about your weight loss as long as they have your money!
I admit... I was desperate! My metabolism is not what it used to be and I've been having a hard time losing weight in the last few years, so I decided to find out what that LA Weight Loss is all about. You'll walk in and talk to one of their ...
Pros: food and restaurant guide helpful, weekly weigh-ins and accountability Cons: High pressure sales, expensive bars and supplements
Well, I've only been on the program for 1 week and I've lost 10 pounds! The program can be a bit to follow at first but it does get easier as things progress. The "but" in the title is because of the high pressure sales pitch which can be worse than ...
Pros: They won't charge you for a paper diary where you can write down your foods Cons: Extremely expensive and pushy. Supplements NOT approved by FDA. Bars high in calories
Unless you enjoy being ripped off, stay away from this place. I worked at LA Weight Loss for two years before I had to leave because I felt so horrible about what I was doing to my clients. First of all, the minimum program amount is $450. That is ...
Pros: You get individualized counseling and are weighed privately. Cons: Very expensive!!! It's all about getting you to buy their products!
I wish I had read some reviews on LA Weight Loss BEFORE I had signed on. Most of the reviews that I have read since canceling my contract with LA Weight Loss have been very accurate and reflective of my experience there. At first the program seems very ...
Pros: One on One counseling-No scheduled meetings-Awesome support-Easy to eyeball portions-no counting points Cons: Cost could be prohibitive to some
I found and read the previous post during a search for LAWL recipes online. Some things were true, but it was made to seem a lot worse than it is. I started with LAWL 3 weeks ago, and I have lost 7 pounds already. It may not sound like a lot, but I ...
Pros: It works! You become energetic again! It is easy! No regrets! Cons: Counselors transfer in and out constantly. Disliked products are not returnable. They went bankrupt 1/4/08
I have been on the LA Weight Loss Program for 31 Weeks. I have never cheated on this program and I have lost 85.2 pounds thus far. (UPDATE: I officially lost 100 pounds in exactly 9 months!!!! (10/12/2006-7/12/2007) ) When I walked into my LA ...
Pros: Very detailed laid out menu plan Cons: Expensive, EXTREMELY RESTRICTIVE
I followed the LA Weight Loss program for twelve weeks, and struggled with on it everyday, week on the diet. I did manage to lose 19.8lbs over the twelve week period, but felt very deprived in my food options. My Plan consisted of: 3 vegetables ...
Pros: Support, accountability, bars taste good, lots of food choices in plan, handy restaurant guides Cons: staff has driven me crazy, won't follow through on guarantee, staff made unnecessary extra restrictions
LA weight loss is a mixed bag for me. I joined because my sister lost 50 pounds (she subsequently quit and gained it back, and so did a friend. The friend gave glowing reviews, as did my sister. I had 18 pounds to lose, and wound up paying $750 for ...
Pros: The initial program fees are fair. Cons: The Cost of products and ingredients!
I worked for LA Weight Loss for over 3 years and the plan it self does work. But you will lose faster if you do not use the LA lite bars ($14 - $16 a box-(7)- 2 boxes a week.) They will tell you can get them as low as $9.98, but you have to buy hundreds ...
Pros: Healthy program and good accountability factor. Cons: I wish my center was closer.
I chose L.A. Weight Loss because I had several friends who had dieting success with the program. I even have one friend who has battled her excess weight since we were in elementary school. This is the first time in our lives that she has lost so much ...
Pros: Nice program, filling and easy to follow. Cons: high pressure sales, mandatory visits every week
I joined last Friday and put down a wad of money. As the other posts say, they soon came up with the line about having to buy their LA Lites Nutrition Bars. When I told the saleswoman (that's what they are, SALES PEOPLE) that I would do it ...
Pros: The counselors show you how to eat your food not boxes of frozen dinners. Cons: The LA Lites are a little expensive, but they are worth it.
I love LA Weight Loss. I joined in July 2008. I lost 7 lbs the first 2 weeks. I couldn't believe it. After that, I knew that it was going to be a great experience for me. They actually teach you how to eat correctly. ...
Pros: Healthy, Satisfying, Easy to follow Cons: Going in to the center's to often
Reading the reviews, i'd say 80% are negative...wow.. My experience is good thus far, mind you ... today is my 2nd week on it, 14 days, but the staff has been amazing to me, and i've lost close to 10 lbs in 14 days... my goal is 50 lbs, which is 25 ...
Pros: It works fast enough that you see results quickly and are motivated. Cons: you had better like water, fruit and veggies.
This program calls for you to eat, and eat and eat. The trick is you must drink a lot of water and eat what is on the list exactly the way they tell you. You can't mix proteins in a meal, you have to be sure to fit all the food into your day, and you ...
Pros: Easy to follow menu. Simple portion sizes. Large variety of meals in the cookbook. Cons: It is expensive, but not the worst out there by far.
This diet program is expensive, however so are a lot of other programs that provide special goods, or services. For example the weekly cost of this program versus weight watchers is pretty much the same. It is much less than the herbal diets or jenny ...
Pros: easy to follow,
flexible dining out,
satisfied,
no special foods,
healthy Cons: price of bars,
no internet or chat for questions,
I've tried weight watchers off and on since 2001. I tried the at work plan. I've actually gained over the years using weight watchers. It's not enough food and even when I eat all my points and flex points I'm still hungry!! Lawl is very expensive, ...
Pros: I like the little board where they post your progress along with others. Cons: EXPENSIVE
I am a student in a health professions major, so before I graduated I wanted to loose some weight. I consider myself to be a smart person when detecting BS. But I saw the commercial and they were offering like 50% to loose so many pounds before ...
Pros: THEY MAKE YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR WEIGHT LOSS. Cons: HAVING TO PAY EVERYTHING UPFRONT.
I WENT TO L.A. WEIGHTLOSS BECAUSE OF THE FOREVER PROBLEM OF DIETING. I DIDN'T LOSE IN THEIR SPECIFIED TIME- 22 LBS IN 11 WEEKS- I LOST 22 POUNDS IN 16 WEEKS. I HAD A FEW WEEKS OF ILLNESS THAT THREW ME OFF TRACK BECAUSE OF THE L.A. SHAKES(LIKE THE LITE ...
Pros: Frequent check in can help with diet. Some staff are nice. Cons: Over priced! Designed to sell their product, high staff turnover.
I have been on every diet out there and you'd think I'd learn. I guess that's why companies like these stay in business -- because there are so many of us out there so desperate we'll try anything. Initially I had some success, and lost about 20 ...
Pros: Weighing in 3 times per week, eat regular food Cons: Counsellors work on commission, expensive
I joined LA Weight Loss in January and have lost 10 lbs. I basically am paying them for the weigh-ins. Which is exactly what I need. If I know I have to go weigh in, I am less likely to cheat. But believe me, I do cheat (and still lose!). I only ...
Pros: One on one accountability, food portion of plan is healthy but limited.
Cons: Weigh in 3x/wk unnecessary, supplements just a money-making gimmick, centers spotty
LA Weight Loss is a double-edged sword when it comes to weight loss. The concept is a good one (private consultations and a basically healthy FOOD plan) but they are really in the business to sell you their products, not to see you lose weight. The ...
Pros: La weight loss bars are delicious Cheaper than prescription meds Cons: Have to buy products from La weight loss to qualify for the money back guarnatee.
I found and read the LA Weight Loss reviews online and some things are true, but the reviews made to seem a lot worse than reality. Using the "at work" plan I actually gained weight over the years. I was always hungry, even after eating all my points and ...
Pros: The "diet" MINUS the bars Cons: WASTE OF MONEY$$$....
I worked at LA Weight Loss for a VERY long Time. The diet minus the bars...Is a good diet. Its quite simple, if your cutting back on calories...your going to lose the weight, bottom line. The owners of the franchise are hard on their employees. UNETHICAL in many ways. Many of them need to LOSE weight themselves!
Pros: at least I sold by bars on ebay and didn't take a complete loss!! Cons: They only thing I really lost was my MONEY
I spent over $2,000 to loose 27lbs (out of 100)!! Their food combinations were VERY confusing and having to get weighed in 3 times a week is VERY time consuming!! You basically can't eat out because it is SO very confusing!! I've dieted all my life and never have I been so duped, at least as Weight Watchers you aren't out any money if you don't loose and don't have to sign a BINDING contract!! The only way they guarantee the weight loss is by buying REALLY expensive "LA LITES" that are pretty much a candy bar. The whole thing is a great big gimmik!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM AND KEEP YOUR MONEY!!
Pros: Lots of advice, interaction with staff, and fast weight loss. Cons: The plan is expensive and requires a lot of time and thought to really work.
Ok, so it isn't the cheapest diet out there. I'm not going to go through the "financials" because I think others already have. And if you are on a budget, this may not be the diet for you. Quite honestly--money is tight for me, I'm a grad student, but my jeans were tight too! I've tried Weight watchers--and even thought about Jenny Craig. The biggest problem with those programs is that they do not offer enough control and accountability for me. LA Weightloss function as the little conscious on your shoulder. They personalize the diet based on your weight goals and offer support. You actually get to know the staff--and they recognize when you are plateauing.
I've been on the plan about 8 weeks and have lost around 14 pounds. I'm not quite at 2 pounds per week--but then again, I've cheated a few times! Still--if you really follow the plan, control your portions, measure, and GO to the center. You'll do well. My clothing is definitely fitting better!
way too expensive and I gained weight when I got off of it.The food was ok but I lost weight at a fraction of the costs using a $9.95 diet book called the diet smart plan. I wanted to lose 50 pounds and I did, but not on LA weight loss
This is a LIFESTYLE not a DIET by carolinadrake ,May 09 '06
Pros: It really works! You get to eat regular food. Cons: It is pricey.
I have been at LA for 7 weeks. I am down 16 pounds and could not be happier. I had to go buy new clothes last weekend!
The cost is great, but I have tried every other diet and this is the first one that I have had any success with. My family is eating better and my hubby is losing too, just by eating what I have been cooking on the "plan."
The center I go to is NOT high pressure to purchase the extras. I think they have a successful location because of that.
The most important thing I am taking from this is that it is a LIFESTYLE change and not just a 29 week diet. I will never be heavy again!
Better than what I'm doing now by mddiva ,Oct 05 '09
Pros: You will lose the weight. Cons: The products are pricey. Shady business practice for the in-center program. Too much money upfront.
It's too bad LA Weight loss had the worst business practices of all the diet centers because when I was on the program I actuall lost a lot of weight. I'm currently on Jenny Craig and I'm not losing much of anything on this program. LA Weight loss I found had a program I could follow during the weight loss and after during the maintenance phase. JC you have to eat their foods which I think is high in sodium even though I drink a lot of water it just doesn't seem to be working. I have thought about going back on LA weight loss but haven't decide as of yet if I will or not. They do have a home program where I can do the program from home. Strongly considering it. I'll give JC one more month if I don't see any lose I'm off the program for good.
