I worked at LA Weight Loss for a VERY long Time. The diet minus the bars...Is a good diet. Its quite simple, if your cutting back on calories...your going to lose the weight, bottom line. The owners of the franchise are hard on their employees. UNETHICAL in many ways. Many of them need to LOSE weight themselves!

I spent over $2,000 to loose 27lbs (out of 100)!! Their food combinations were VERY confusing and having to get weighed in 3 times a week is VERY time consuming!! You basically can't eat out because it is SO very confusing!! I've dieted all my life and never have I been so duped, at least as Weight Watchers you aren't out any money if you don't loose and don't have to sign a BINDING contract!! The only way they guarantee the weight loss is by buying REALLY expensive "LA LITES" that are pretty much a candy bar. The whole thing is a great big gimmik!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM AND KEEP YOUR MONEY!!

Ok, so it isn't the cheapest diet out there. I'm not going to go through the "financials" because I think others already have. And if you are on a budget, this may not be the diet for you. Quite honestly--money is tight for me, I'm a grad student, but my jeans were tight too! I've tried Weight watchers--and even thought about Jenny Craig. The biggest problem with those programs is that they do not offer enough control and accountability for me. LA Weightloss function as the little conscious on your shoulder. They personalize the diet based on your weight goals and offer support. You actually get to know the staff--and they recognize when you are plateauing.

I've been on the plan about 8 weeks and have lost around 14 pounds. I'm not quite at 2 pounds per week--but then again, I've cheated a few times! Still--if you really follow the plan, control your portions, measure, and GO to the center. You'll do well. My clothing is definitely fitting better!

I have been at LA for 7 weeks. I am down 16 pounds and could not be happier. I had to go buy new clothes last weekend!

The cost is great, but I have tried every other diet and this is the first one that I have had any success with. My family is eating better and my hubby is losing too, just by eating what I have been cooking on the "plan."

The center I go to is NOT high pressure to purchase the extras. I think they have a successful location because of that.

The most important thing I am taking from this is that it is a LIFESTYLE change and not just a 29 week diet. I will never be heavy again!
