Pros: This is a durable, high quality printer for heavy duty printing. Cons: The cost is pretty high and so are the add ons.
This is a pretty heavy (112 lb) pretty reliable printer. With a duty cycle of over 100,000 lets you know that this type of printer is definitely a work horse and is made to handle big loads. Being a unix administrator, I usually find most of the...

Pros: Expandable, high volume, reliable, fast, capacity, print quality. Cons: Expensive, modest improvements over previous product, heavy and bulky.
In an environment where printing large documents are necessary, you need a heavy duty laser printer, and I chose it to be the HP LaserJet 8150N. This is the networked version of the HP LaserJet 8150. In my office, I print many outlines for a webpage...

Not convinced about the HP LaserJet 8150
by hughcox ,Nov 15 '03
Pros: print quality, speed, reliability, workload capability at 350,000 copies between maintenance checkups, and ruggedness Cons: envelope printer "wrinkles", no landscape check printing, loudness, and very heavy weight
After purchase of the HP LaserJet 8150, I encountered several irritating problems. No doubt, HP's description of the printer's heavy duty capability is accurate, The print quality is superb. The print speed is dramatic even when the printer is "asleep" before printing.
The problems:
1. Envelopes fed through top tray one are generally pressed so flat that "wrinkles" appear in most printed envelopes. If the wrinkle develops on the envelope in the printed area, printing can be smudged.
2. Tray one will NOT accommodate business check printing (landscape) since the guides do not close to that check size.
3. The printer weighs about 115 pounds even with trays and cartridge removed. One person cannot handle the printer without risk to printer and self. A roll-around cart is essential.
4. The printer is loud while running and almost as loud when asleep. The printer fan affects the noise environment of a room. The printer is best placed in a room where conversations are not required.
